I read the news today oh boy! Page 780

I'm talkin' 'bout whitey and his love of shooting things..

So black African poachers wiping out entire herds of endangered species to flog to the Chinese is okay then?

As for the natives getting a thrill from hunting - why you should see all the singing and dancing they do when they get one - they're positively thrilled old bean.

As for whitey, he is a strange animal, I've heard that their womenfolk get a thrill from shopping of all things - imagine if they tracked a lion for several miles and brought it down cleanly, they'd explode in delight no doubt.

On a more serious note, I went hunting once and found it both boring and miserable, you have to have a lot of patience and skill to bring down a wild animal. No wonder we now shove all of our animals into little boxes, force feed them and pump them full of drugs before slaughtering them for food. Much more humane then hunting.

I love playing the least dangerous game.

It involves me adopting a tortoise that I promise is going to a really good home.

And a black and decker power drill.

No of course it's not.. and you know that I was referring to those that have to hunt to eat.. not killing for just sadistic reasons, nor the expediency of filthy ivorian/horny lucre.

Tally-ho!

I don't understand the pleasure that some people get from shooting things dead, even if it's "legal". Boys and their toys?

Women hunt, too. And why the quotes around "legal"?

Quote: Stylee TingTing @ April 15 2012, 9:56 PM BST

Not some natives who do it to survive and who always have a respect for their quarry, who don't kill just for the thrill of it..

I'm going to assume that you do not know any avid hunters if you think they have no respect for their quarry and kill just for the thrill of it.

What happens when you start permitting torture on your enemies, it' hard to stop.

Nope, but keep telling yourself that if it helps.

Oh, I know plenty, Butty, plenty..

Give me details, then. I know you have a problem with believing statistics from government sources, so allow me to question your assertion and give us some more information about your hunting friends and their beliefs and habits.

Really how so?

Seemed quite a simple equivocation.

nb annoyed no one noticed my brilliant the least dangerous game pun.

Can anyone explain something about the anti-hunting lobby? In the past, it was fox-hunting, or 'hunting with hounds' to which they objected. But then there seems to have been some confusion, with 'hunting with hounds' abbreviated to just 'hunting', and now when people say they are anti-hunting, they seem to be saying they object to all hunting.

Is that right?

A sad story from my area, about a killing; then in the comments section, a helpful person decides it's a good time to correct other people's spelling.

Some scary people in your part of the world - based on the comments section alone. Yep, may not have been the best time to play spelling Nazi but then the final comment said 'stop being a padantic arse' and I lost all sympathy for the angry mob.

This is really sad. Hopefuly as the child is so young she won't remember anything.

When I was watching this on the new earlier I realised that I've never seen the pperson in the next flat.

Only just caught up on this but hunting is primitive and barbaric. We have battery farms now so there is no need to hunt things - unless they're killing people for NO reason.

And respect? F**k me! How can you respect something and then kill it?

I had a battery farm.

It was very crowded.

There were only 2 cells.

How much did you charge?

Not sure what a battery farm is but when was the last time you saw a deer farm, an elk farm, a caribou farm, a quail farm, a pheasant farm, etc?

Do you feel the same way about fishing? It's essentially the same as hunting but it involves driving a pointed barb through the fish's face and letting it gasp for a few minutes before cutting its head off.

And respect? F**k me! How can you respect something and then kill it?

It's quite easy, actually.

Quote: Renegade Carpark @ April 16 2012, 2:35 PM BST

Try to keep up with the current topic. It's about hunting.

Quote: Renegade Carpark @ April 16 2012, 2:35 PM BST

We specialised in quickly filling orders at short notice, it was an ever ready battery farm.

Thats shocking!
