What are you eating? Page 566

In regards to your gluten free requirement. Could you not eat one gluteny meal and get away with it? Or would you be regretting it 10 mins later?

In theory yes I could as I'm not sensitive. However I have Coeliac disease which to cut a long story short basically means that just because I eat something "gluteny" and don't get instantly sick, it won't have an affect in the future. I guess it's a little bit like smoking, you might not fell ill after each one but it might have an effect on you in later life.

Also although I did used to cheat a bit and be ok, I haven't for many years so my bodys not used to it, which could mean that I have become sensitive.

There are some other reason people may need to be on a gf diet but they don't always have the long term effects. So if those people were to cheat to much they might feel sick for a day but there's not the long term effect.

Blimey! I didn't know there were long term effects you could get from gluten.

For Coeliacs yes. As I said I'm not sensitive and could maybe cheat sometimes without getting ill imeddiatly and maybe not end up with something serious later in life.
Thing is I'm not physic.

I'm really lucky though, I have a few times in the last year taken a few bits of something ( eg a pizza) before realising it was a "regular" one and not got sick. Some people get really ill from literally a bite or two.

Curry sauce ain't worth it.

I might not be missing much but it would be nice to be able to have the option of trying something without potentialy getting sick.

If you absolutely insist.

Albeit instant gravy granules with a teaspoon of generic curry powder produces a similar result.

Thanks for the link. I might try the gravy and curry poweder idea. Would be rather expensive to import curry sauce and It might not get through customs anyway.

Oh, right! Well we don't want you getting sick now!

I'm guessing the curry has flour of some sort to thicken the sauce. But if you were to make your own you could use cornflour or any other none wheat based flour as a thickener. You probably already know this but just incase I thought I'd mention it.

:)

Just had a Crunchie. Nom!

Cuppa tea now I think.

Just had a burrito as big as my head. Gonna take a quick nap and then make some pizzas.

My old man was diagnosed with this a few years ago. The gluten free beer is disgusting.

I made some from a recipe I found. I took a photo but can't upload it. It tastes ok but doesn't look good. Does it sound like I got it right?

The curry powder, itself, probably won't be gluten free. Most powdered spices have flour added to them.

It's all good. I made sure to check the ingredients before I bought it. :) Even single origin spice eg Tumeric or paprika need to be checked as some compainies add flour to them. Lucky for me there aren't many who do this.
With the exception of plain rice and unflavoured cofee or tea there is almost nothing that comes out of a packet that is gauranteed to be ok.
