It was so awful I had to stifle a fit of the giggles at one point. It was a masterclass in how not to write a play: The writer had adapted a novel, and for some reason thought that all that involved was picking out the dialogue and occasionally having characters announcing how much time had passed from one 2-minute scene to the next! The longest any actors were on stage was for an incredibly awkward (and tedious) sex scene. And for some bizarre reason the female lead was wearing a pair of leggings and a biker jacket while the rest of the cast were in 18th century costumes. No wonder small theatres are suffering! *rant over*
How many theatre trips did you say you had line up this week?
It was called "The Devil in Love" and I think it was supposed to be about the conflict between religious devotion and love, but it was just a tedious pile of crap. I think the writer and director must think that theatre is the poor man's cinema so we had 4 lines of dialogue and a blackout, then a couple of lines of dialogue and blackout etc. I wasn't even subtle about leaving, I just headed straight out the minute the lights went up!
Terrible journey home because of signal problems on tube; thought I would unwind in front of the telly with a glass of beer. Dodgy signal so fiddled with aerial connector, and succeeded in knackering it, losing signal altogether. Then knocked glass of beer over onto new carpet.
Think I shall got to bed now.

Well, the others should be better as they are, at least, good plays.

Professional or amateur? If professional, how the Hell did they get funding!!!
Professional, amazingly. Found two reviews for it online, one gave it a generous 2 stars out of 5, another gave it 4! I guess it must look good to some people...
Emperor's new clothes, maybe.

Ben is getting excited that the ulcer on his inner lip appears to be dying.
Don't know about your dying / dead (has it passed over yet?) ulcer Ben but it seems to have killed this thread.
