'Child 44' - Tom Robb Smith. I've only just started it but looks like it could be good.

Got this as an early birthday present. :D http://t.co/M8qkHOIo

I just finished reading 11/22/63, Stephen King's novel about a man who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President Kennedy. I enjoyed it very much but reading it on my new iPad in bed over the course of a week seems to have done major damage to my neck. Ouch.

I like the sound of this book. May need to investigate.

A History of Europe from 400 to 1000 by one of my old university professors; I had forgotten how immensely learned he was, and how entirely uninterested in narrative history, e.g. "The political history of the period can easily be reduced to rivalries, and perennial wars... This would make for dull reading..." No actually that sounds like it could be quite fun; it is the endless discussion of the collapse of the Roman system of taxation under the later Merovingians that is causing my eyes to slid of the page as if it is greased.

Anne Frank's Diary. She wrote exceedingly well for a 13 year old.

And quietly.

We went to her house in Amsterdam, which was an amazingly sobering experience.

I do wonder about how they translate that.

'Sing you home' - Jodi Piccoult, which I hope will be as gripping as her books usually are.

Ha, I'm afraid not.

Wot?

You mean you'd like to get a gay porn comic ?

No, I thought sooty was suggesting he was in the market for one.
