I think that's half the problem, a lot of people seem to 'enjoy' the process and the endorphins released after the pain.
Got into a conversation once with a goth girl who had loads and loads of tattoos and she pretty much admitted that the tattoos were a substitute for self harming. But like all elborately adorned goth / punk people, she looked far more interesting then she actually was - maybe it's an inverse proportion thing?
For the record, I don't mind one or two discrete tattoos on a lady and Scat's one looks quite tasteful and can be easily covered up with a watch for more formal occassions if need be.

I have wanted a tattoo for ages on ankle, can't decide between an old fashioned rose/heart or a bluebird?
For Da butt; when in Bruges I indulged in a few beers 8% Lucifer and 10% Delerium Tremens there were more but can't remember! 
They sell Delirium Tremens here but I'm not a big fan of Belgian beers. I prefer American and British ales with the occasional German beer thrown into the mix.

Must tell you about mine, we have just decorated our wall with grey wallpaper with large cream flowers and little daisies, the cat appeared looked at paper and ran upstairs! she only popped down for food looked again 'wide-eyed' then ran back upstairs.

Are the flowers bigger than her? That could be quite stressful
I think the daisies look like lots of 'eyes' that scares her ?
