Michael Bentine
Mike & Bernie Winters

Good line up, some very pioneering too. And it is odd why not many mention double acts when talking about stand ups, or performers who do characters like Coogan for instance. There's a lot of modern snobbery with fans of 'stand up', I'm not sure if they want to acknowledge the whole wide genre that it is.

They don't make 'em like they used to. Jim "what's-my-appeal" Davidson, OBE, patriotic former tax-exile, racist Dubai landowner and winner of a New Faces Heat about 38 years ago, is playing at The Monaco Ballroom in Wigan where I live. They're having a whole 1974 themed night, pints for 50p, protests for the Guilford Four, and all the wives in the audience have black eyes because it's okay to thump 'The Mrs' so long as you make it up with flowers and treat your ma' with over-exaggarated respect. Like they do in Eastenders. Because the Krays did it. When copying from the Italians.

Steve Coogan (as Paul Calf)
Sean Lock
Larry David (he was a stand up before Seinfeld)
Jack Dee
Bill Bailey
Steven Wright
Stewart Lee
Dylan Moran
Frank Skinner
Dave Gorman
Stephen Merchant
Woody Allen
Louis C.K.
Tim Vine

If we can include deceased stand ups I'll add:
Richard Pryor
Tommy Cooper
Dave Allen
Laurel & Hardy (they toured Europe with a stage act in the 1940's. Voudeville was essentially the stand up of it's day)

Louis C.K
Jimmy Carr
Woody Allen
Jerry Seinfeld
Conan O'Brien
Stephen Merchant
Stewart Lee
Dylan Moran
Eddie Izzard

I could have a line up of deceased . . .

Dave Allen
Bernard Manning
Bob Monkhouse
Mike Reid
Max Wall
Tommy Cooper
Frank Carson

and, topping the bill . .

Max Miller

Compered by Colin Crompton

What would you pay to see that line up again?

:D

Not 1 woman?

Sarah Millican
Jo Brand
Catherine Parkinson (although, does she do stand up?)

My standup line:

-Aziz Ansari
-Donald Glover
-Nick Swardson
-Sara Schaefer
-Jon Friedman
-Rob Delaney
-John Mulaney
-Jo Koy
-Gabriel Iglesias
-Jon Reep
