I HATE "surreal whimsy" unless it is done really well, which is never. If I hear another self-consciously wacky routine about "I walked into the pub and there was this talking sausage, right, called Dave, and Dave was just, like, sitting on a pile of wristwatches and then we both, like, flew off to Spain using the power of Vimto" I might end up doing something very non-surreal with a hammer to whoever is responsible.
I also can't bear cosy pre-watershed unfunny bollocks like... well, you know the show I mean.

Actually, that'll little bit made me laugh. Because you mentioned Vimto - which is exactly the sort of whimsical thing shit comedians will mention.
