I dunno, I don't think so. I get the feeling that if someone could tell me what he was in the news for, I'd remember. But I don't get that with the film thing.

... Or was he just mentioned in QI?

Maybe he became a local MP!

Sadly, I wouldn't be entirely surprised.

The Slaggs have been thinking of an animal sitcom but can't tell you the premise of it.

There's an old joke I heard but it still makes me laugh.

Q: What do you call a sheep tied to a Cardiff lampost?

A: A leisure centre.

It's about time we had a lampooning of the programme planners' favourite shlokspots like cooking or house selling.

Of course, it could be it's thought that the real things are so close to being self-parodies, nobody would notice any difference...

Oh yes, and how long is it since we had a military sitcom.? or is Iraq rendering this unlikely? 'It Ain't Half Hot, Mum' seems a bit ancient. As for Bilko...

There was MASH in the 70s as well, but none recently I dont think.

There's that Talking/Taking The Flak which is about news reporters in a warzone but I doubt that counts.

Speaking of estate agents, there was a sitcom called The Estate Agents and that drama called Sold.

How about a sitcom based on family life? Surely hasn't been done yet?

Maybe have one of the kids be a bit wacky? And the dad a bit grumpy. Its a bit like my family... Actually that's a good title... off to write it...
