I read the news today oh boy! Page 749

Did the police bother to find the spot on the pavement that would have had blood on it ? Forensics could prove that the back of his head hit the pavement.

I'm sure photos (and probably samples) were taken but I suspect that most of the blood wasn't Zimmerman's.

In yet another rush to judgement, the African-American funeral home director who handled Martin's body has told the media that there wasn't a fight because there were no visible injuries to his hands. Not that it contradict's Zimmerman's story that the kid decked him with a single punch to the nose and then began beating his head on the pavement, mind you. I wouldn't expect that sort of fight to leave any injuries to Martin's hands.

Hmm, they still going on about that story over there then! Well, I see both sides and understand the huge outcry within the black community, but don't necessarily see it all as genuine and just. Much of it is whipped up as part of the deep seated feud between two groups who will probably never get on and want to settle some old scores, using any opportunity to do it.

Is it not all a bit odd that there's no mention there of a murder trial which has just resulted in the life sentence of a black guy for killing two harmless white folk, who dared stray into his 'hood'? I would have thought the timing of this story would have compromised a lot of the more hysterical Jesse Jackson type media mongering. It does put some perspective onto this one highly inflated story, that one they don't want to hear is buried.

urple">UK petrol stations have reported a rise in fuel demand after ministers told people to top up their supplies.

But ministers reject retailer claims their advice has caused "panic buying".

Queues formed at many petrol stations across the country on Thursday as demand for fuel shot up.

Some garages ran dry

In complicated issues it's hard to tell if the government was at fault, or if it really was down to something else, like "the weather" (George Osborne's favourite excuse). But surely in this very simple issue, we can all see that their advice to 'top up' was simply wrong; if there's danger of panic buying, you shouldn't tell people to go out and 'buy'... and this coming after a cabinet minister dangerously told motorists to fill jerry cans with petrol. If they can't admit to error in what is plainly mismanagement, why should we give them any good will next time they try to cover up their ineptitude?

They know what they're doing, Nogget, they are deliberately trying to cause a crisis where there isn't one yet, to turn the public against the 'greedy strikers' before they've even done it. They want to give people a taste of the chaos the strike could cause and try and change the Union's decision. This vile govt is the most cyninal and brash I have yet seen. They are exploiting absolutely everything in their ideological madness. The libdem part of the govt is increasingly pathetic and poodleish.

There's always a question in such situations; conspiracy or incompetence? They have a track record in both areas, but I'm tempted to think they're simply incompetent in this case, because I doubt they would deliberately make themselves look this bad if they were clever enough to avoid it; they would have got Nick Clegg to tell people to fill up.

That's true - it does make them look rather stupid.

Lets examining the evidence stupid or.... well the cat man just got elected!!

Oh and well done Georgeous George

Its a funny old world when I'm glad to see his return

May he give both Daves many headaches

Jeez, I remember Galloway's cat like it's burned into my sickest cat fantasy - will you be the cat this time, or shall I? eek.

Yeah, but most of the people who voted for him probably never saw him do his cat-mime; they hadn't yet emigrated to Britain when it was broadcast.

Ha ha, possibly even true. Yes I think GG is a special (nut) case who does indeed choose his voters very carefully. He may be seriously self obsessed and misguided and smarmy and arrogant and corrupt and quite disgusting, but he is also indefatigable.

Now some poor woman has been severely burned putting petrol form one can to another in her kitchen. Christ.

Personally, I can see this fuel strike having severe implications in the honour killing / quickie divorce sections of the Middle Asian communities.

My advice: they should band together and have a Bride-B-Q.

Yep. Well done government. Like that wasn't entirely predictable.
