nb the UKs prisons are stuffed with rioters getting massive punative sentences. Arrested after the police utterly failed to keep the streets safe.
Sending someone to prison for stealing a bottle of lucozade because they couldn't buy one because all the shops are looted. Is the police punishing someone for their own mistakes.
What is it about this thread that makes some of you go entirely mental? You take something someone says, then extrapolate from nowhere that they must also think this, that and the other and then go off on one about it. It really is a very odd phenomenon.
It's like a room full of demented, elderly schizophrenics ranting at themselves in here most days.

If the police are outnumbered it's nearly impossible to shut down a riot unless force is applied heavily.

The police didn't get involved in some disruption. As they weren't allowed to hit anyone and it took 4 officers to arrest and restrain a suspect.
Shops burned, people died or were maimed because we're so obsessed about the minutaie of state violence. And pathetically disinterested in criminal violence.

Middle class liberals are kind of stereotypical. Even before they say it, I know exactly what they think about hunting, gay marriage, cycle lanes, firearms, the Tories, smacking children, bankers, Americans, Occupy, Palestine and about a hundred other contentious subjects.
It's all so dull and predictable and repetitive. Not one of them is capable of forming an independent opinion or even honestly and openly discussing a controversial subject for fear of being ostracized by the rest of the bleeding heart community or being labelled as a right wing hate monger by left wing hate mongers.
