Apparently the care workers were present, but the police failed to consult them. Probably because they were too busy stopping the boy from killing himself.

Exactly. It sounds like in this situation it was better to remove him from the water instead of confiring with the care workers.

That is atrociously handled and the reason the courts came down on the police so hard was they didn't stick to their own policies and procedures.

As it is he was chest deep in the water. Which makes him a bloody nuisance possibly but not a suicide risk.

The problem is the prohibition against restraint by care staff etc. Means as a rule it is the police who are usually expected to deal with clients they may know nothing about. The attitude towards force in this country is contra sensible.

From the article -

It is claimed Mr Livingstone made the comments while meeting Labour supporters in the Jewish community. They alleged that he used the word "Zionist" as an insult and confused the label "Israeli" with "Jew". The group wrote to Mr Miliband, warning him that Mr Livingstone now faces losing vital support in election race.

The letter said: "Ken, towards the end of the meeting, stated he did not expect the Jewish community to vote Labour as votes for the Left are inversely proportional to wealth levels, and suggested that as the Jewish community is rich we simply wouldn't vote for him."

I'm not sure I want to live under the KLO as he fights for London's freedom. He'll probably annex the South Bank and Hammas-smith.

Yeah, not entirely sure how this'll benefit Londoners. If it works, then everyone in the country will just come here for health care and housing. And we have such an abundant supply of space.
Unless he's going to spend our money on check points into the city and issue passports? Which will f**k up all the tourism profits.
Although I would quite like a London passport so you don't get charged ridiculous amounts for cans of non alcoholic drink and taxis in central. 'I do know how much you're taking the piss mate, I'm native!'

AJGO read my post again.

Armed Militia.

We'll cut the tracks north of Kings cross and mine Victoria coach station.

Ken's a strange duck. I prefer having the likeable nitwit in charge.

I heard Ken criticising Boris, saying he hadn't done anything. Bearing in mind that Londoners hated what Ken did, doing nothing is quite a vote-winner.

Yeh he's a bit of an old antisemite, but with him it's more of a lovable eccentricity.

Dear God please no, please don't promote the idea that a politician should be amusingly dumb, especially when he's intelligent and well-connected and a FUCKING EVIL TORY BASTARD
