Well when American carries out unilateral military operations on other countries soil.
So the cost of killing one sick old man of little significance. Would seem to be Pakistan's nuclear weapons on the road. And probably not even being hijacked, just written straight to LAK by a traiter or a guy with just an evelope full of dollars.
I hope the cost of justice is worth it.

I once went to a talk given by a charity that defends Israel drone assassinations.
It was Kafaesque. They actually had trials for targets, with judges and a defence council. Except the defendant didn't know they were on trial in some secret court room a 100 miles away. If they were found innocent, or if they were guilty.
The first clue to that would be a missile through their car's roof.
A letter to say they were innocent would have been nice.
That's what 21st century postmodern hitech justice looks like.

But, Pakistan is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and members of it's government actively support Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
As for Osama being some innocent old man - get real. He masterminded the deaths of over 3000 innocent people and commited the largest terrorist attack on American soil.
The bastard had to die - there was no need for a court case because not only was their evidence to suggest he planned the attacks, he admitted it several times and in fact, revelled in it. Therefore, justice was served.

At that stage they may decide to apply some of the methods the Americans have granted themselves in the war of terror.

The most likely recipient of a Pakistani-built bomb would be the Saudis. They bankrolled the Pakistani nuclear program and will want a few of their own after Iran tests the bomb it's working on.

Which has the bonus of being disinsentive to other war criminals.
Which is why Serbian and Congolese war criminals etc are still being pursued.
