I don't normally do this sort of thing but this morning I was inspired to pen this tribute to everyone's favourite crazy Ivan...
There lived a certain man, not so long ago
He was short and mean, in his eyes a flaming glow
Most people looked at him with terror and with fear
But to Moscow voters he was such a lovely dear
He preached Capitalism like a preacher
Full of ecstacy and fire
But he also was the kind of teacher
To put Russia in the mire
Ra ra Vlad Putin
Controller of the Russian scene
There was a cat that really was gone
Ra ra Vlad Putin
Russia's greatest vote machine
It was a shame how he carried on
He ruled the Russian land and was really quite bizarre
But to Oligarchs he was really wunderbar
In all affairs of state he was the man to please
But he looked real great when he had a bear to squeeze
For the poor he was no wheeler dealer
Though they heard the things he'd done
They believed he was the only leader
Elections they were won
Ra ra Vlad Putin
Controller of the Russian scene
There was a cat that really was gone
Ra ra Vlad Putin
Russia's greatest vote machine
It was a shame how he carried on
{But when his corruption and lusting and his hunger
For power became known to more and more people
The demands to do something about this outrageous
Man became louder and louder}
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
"This man's just got to go!" declared his enemies
But the Motherland begged "Don't you try to do it, please"
No doubt this Vlad Putin had lots of hidden charms
Ra ra Vlad Putin
Controller of the Russian scene
There was a cat that really was gone
Ra ra Vlad Putin
Russia's greatest vote machine
It was a shame how he carried on
