It used to be that sitcoms were a pretty safe bet for minors and for upholding certain values. Not anymore!! Everything goes now and the only way not to be affected by it is not to watch. Why is it that for something to be fun for a great majority of people, it has to be either immoral, in bad taste, violent, or just plain "crass"?

Yawn, yawn another Muslim stereotype with no basis in reality. I remember an embarrassingly unfunny series called "The Many Wives of Patrick".

Patrick Cargill's character was never married to more than one woman at a time, despite the emotional and relationship entanglements, so the comparison is not accurate.

Many of his previous wives appeared in the show together. The polygamy and sharia law nonsense is just crude offensive negative stereotyping and lazy comedy. How many people do you know with more than one wife ? I don't know any at all.
I think that that was half of Kenneth's (apparently subtle) point. He was suggesting a ridiculous scenario as a 'taboo', not seriously suggesting a comedy should be made along those lines.

There's nothing subtle about his perspective. It's a lazy and offensive stereotype. It would be nice if people tried to see beyond the Daily Mail headlines once in a while.
More generally on taboos there are probably more of them now than there ever were in the past as it is verboten to judge anyone except designated groups like Muslims, gypsies and chavs.
