Web series following a pedophile Page 3

Ahhhhhhhggg!!!! So sorry. Got sent that link and I thought I grabbed and pasted the Ped #3 link from my email, which obviously it was not...
Hope I didn't ruin your lunch...

Here's the real one, I promise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aov0WEekyPU

This stuff is really good.

Is it really only getting 500-odd views?

This is very very good. Such a touchy subject matter but so far it has been handled pretty well. Like others I hope it turns out that Byron is simply looking for friendship rather than anything more sordid, it could be that he relates more to children than he does adults.

But yes, great work. Keep it up. :)

Thanks Kevin and Martin!

Our view count is just from word-of-internet thus far. Slow grind - any reposting is much appreciated.

A lot of Chicago comedians coming up in the future episodes - most are standups (some departed to LA).

Thanks again for watching! New one this Tuesday.

I'm usually all for breaking down taboo's - but you can't create a central character who's aim is to sleep with kids. It is funny well written and produced without a doubt - but you can't take this angle on such a detestable thing. It won't go anywhere.

Brass Eye - which probably didn't make the transition over the pond, did an episode on "peados" - proving there is an angle and if treated insanely well it can be frankly hilarious, but it also caused a huge outrage/controversy at the time (we're talking over a decade ago too - highlights link at the end of the post)

I like your writing, I like your style and what you're trying to do comedy wise, but IMHO the way to save this is to change the focus away from "his" perspective and introduce someone that's trying to catch him and protect kids, maybe a police agent, park warden or even a headmaster at a school who's seen it all over many years and is maybe lamenting the decline in quality of modern peados... a lot of the gags will still work and you create a new angle that can actually sit with an audience.

I'm not sure if he needs to do that. I just think he needs an episode where it's revealed that Byron isn't actually what we think he is, and is instead a misunderstood innocent, a slightly weird innocent, but innocent nonetheless.

It's still very funny.

Reminds me of Tim and Eric.

But still the bit when the kid in the car laughs at him and the other padeo gets in. And you know what he's planning.

At that point it's moving a little beyond funny.

This Ped Crossing article/interview just came out today from the Onion's AVClub Chicago.

By far the weirdest episode yet! Laughing out loud

Have to admit this really made me laugh. I still hate the fact he's a paedophile but in every other respect he's such a good character and this is a great series.

That's funny but now you're adding learning disability and prostitute gags, as well as amping the paedo side up.

Dude you are really talented. You're very funny.

For f**ks sake stop shooting yourself in the foot.

Please.

It's a tragic waste.

Sootyj, I do appreciate you watching. I do disagree with you - but I won't try to convince you of anything on this forum. We'd have to have a beer when you're here or I'm there, because a ten-minute discussion in a bar is a six-month discussion online. And I'm really busy...

Plus, there are six episodes to go, and I don't want to give anything away.

As far as shooting myself in the foot, I guess I'll reserve the right to do that.

Thanks for watching. New one tomorrow.

Good stuff.

Just maybe if you used terms like "sexual predator" less often?

Episode #6 is up! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NvsxCYP1ls&feature=youtu.be

(Sootyj - I can agree with you on that. Where I have used that term, though?)
