Things that piss you off Page 876

Barnaby is quite cute, although friends of our have named their newborn Alfred.

Even weirder than that is... he looks like a little Alfred!

Barnaby is not the worst of them...but the cutsie names like Jamie Oliver's kids...honey buns or whatever and the fruitloop Apple of Gwyneth Paltrow make me weep.

I think Barnaby is quite a nice name!

Women are the worst at choosing baby names, they only think of the cute baby / toddler phase and don't give much thought to when they actually grow up and have to get a job.

Someone named Barnaby is never going to make it to the top of the tree, they'll be lucky if they end up as a balding geography teacher with an ugly wife and a kitchen that smells like hippy crap.

Better than a sea of a million Johns and Kates, surely?

(Nothing wrong with those names, I just picked two normal ones at random.)

What have you got against my kids??... ;)

I do know a grown up Barnaby. He's very friendly and likeable.

Er...no.

I've never found Barnaby a remotely weird or offensive name. Surely there are worse ones to get in a tizzy about.

Just reinforces my point. Naming your kid after Batman's butler is just wrong.

Er...no.

Then why name your kid Barnaby?

Uh oh!

Like James.

There are much, much worse but the blandly weird names are the most insidious.

What would you call your kids, Renegade?

Oiyou and Getmyfags.

Like James.

James is a strong and noble name - no one would like a super spy called Colin Bond.

Barnaby sounds like quite an upper class name to me. Not hippy at all. You're all sorts of wrong. FACT.
