Well here's an unusual story.

The sad truth is that is does happen to men and they feel they can never come forward. It's a very interesting article.

In fairness she was brilliant in the Family Stone.

Sarah Jessica Parker? Was she the sax player or one of the dancers?

Yup and in this country the police are just starting to take it seriously.

Violence is violence.

It's like when adult women sleep with young boys but get light sentencing. You don't have to have a penis to commit sexual assault.

A sweeping generalization. A friend of mine was married to a violent alcoholic woman, who would occasionally thump and kick him. He wasn't at all shy about mentioning this. If you've ever lived in Kenya, you'll know that domestic violence (men beating their wives) is a widespread (and stupid) cultural thing. That BBC article is pretty feeble. It's based entirely on the spiel of one Ndiritu Njoka and his group. The reporter was too useless to interview a single man saying his wife had bashed him - or to find a woman who said she bashed her husband. Trying to link Kenyan women fighting back against cultural violence to adult women molesting boys is a bit of a stretch.

Whoooah! Hang on a minute. I think you may be the one stretching it a bit. I made a comment on how in my personal opinion it's difficult for male victims of violence to come forward and how the law can be a bit uneven. At what point did I ever mention anything about violence in Kenya? All I said was it was an interesting article. I wasn't bouncing up and down at the side.

Remember, there is a really, really nice zero tolerance policy on this thread for not being really, really nice :D

It's really, really nice when people of both sexes don't get beaten by their partners and social programmes try to raise awareness

Quite.

Oooo I am nearing all ones!
