I miss...

Whistle lollipops. I loved blowing and sucking on them.
I can't find any anywhere. Awesome little buggers so they are!

A few years ago I was taking a child to see Santa at Harrods (not my child or my idea, I'm a nanny) and the queue was 4 hours long. To keep the kids entertained and cheerful they handed out whistle lolly pops. I've never come so close to a killing spree...

Ha they are incredibly annoying. I want to buy all the kids of parents I dislike, a years supply. My child of course won't like them!

I was thinking of these the other day. They are called Melody Pops here. I assumed they'd stoped making them because I hadn't seen kids with them for years. I checked the supermarket and they still sell them.

I very nearly bought one.

I watched 'The Iron Lady' the other day and on Maggies and Dennis's first date, he brought her a sugar mouse.
Sort of pink with a real cotton tail. They were nice when you were a kid

Sounds like a euphemism.

Laughing out loud I loved those off the 'penny tray' of sweets.

Now you've got me going..

Jubblies, Lucky Dips, Sweet Tobacco (anyone remember that?); TV21; the Man from U.N.C.L.E.; my red tricycle; floating up-and-down the stairs; TB; Polio; Meningitis; BCG jabs; Thalidomide; fear; getting knocked-about by parents, one sibling, and teachers, who would have all been sent to prison in these more "enlightened" times.. and Palace getting to the First Division..

..but most of all, I miss my collection of Spiderman comics (Nos. 1-62).

;) I miss the time when one could buy cigarettes from the display in the Supermarket.

Now we are forced to find the hidden kiosk, look at secret tobacco manuscript, tick the relevant choice and submit to 'kiosk Commandant'!

Christ what next,a bloody compulsory fluorescent tabard denoting your evil intentions? >_<
