You're probably reeling in shock at the price.

You could always look for a hack - there are earlier versions out there

Just have to bite the bullet, I suppose.

Very specific, and very techy, but has anyone got Chrome O/S working with a Samsung netbook? It installs but the wireless drivers don't work on my N130 and, as we all know, Chromium is useless without the internet

<laughs knowingly as everyone else looks on blankly>

If it makes you feel any better (and there's no reason it should really)
I don't know what any of that even means after the second "very"

Is there any free place I can find an effect to get distressed edges on pictures, like this?

Image

I don't have Photoshop or anything, and have been looking at free photo editing sites like Picnik, but can't find one anywhere that does this. :(

You can almost certainly do it with GIMP, though it might not be there as a one-off tool.

Basically you make a picture of the edge, and use that as a mask on the picture to be 'distressed'.

Do you have an iPad? I have some awesome editing shit for mine.

Nope. :(

I shall have a look at Gimp.

Why didn't you ask him in the first place?

*legs it*

Angry

Gimp is good anyways as is Picasa but not sure if they do the frames.

Here are a couple of masks you could use. I found that Picture Publisher 8 has quite a wide range of edges, but this software is no longer available.

Ooh, thanks, Bill!

Sorry if posted earlier/elsewhere:
Someone stole his computer, two years later, he sees his computer's DynDNS on the internet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=609kEjUED2s

I have one of the weirdest computer faults ever.

My computer that I use for graphics & film editing started dying overnight in such a manner that everything powers off except possibly the disk drive (the disk activity light stays on, but the power-on light goes dark). It then won't power off with the "hold the button down for 10 seconds" escape mechanism.

All my efforts to fix it have failed & even made it worse, so that now it won't run in Windows XP at for more than a few minutes, sometimes not at all. I can't even install a fresh copy of Win XP that used to run on this computer, so it can't be software driver problems.

The weird thing is it will run happily on Linux (Mint 12) and it will install Mint 11 to a part of the hard disk. I ran Mint all night showing the Stellarium display (shows the state of the stars & planets).

I've swapped the two RAM strips over, with no change to the symptoms, so I think that eliminates RAM problems.

Pah, the computer is revolting against Microsoft Windows, methinx.
