C'mon though 5 minutes, you've got it in you, let it out

I don't know how you do it sooty, doing stand up is one of the most terrifying things I can imagine.

Doing stand up in front of drunken Scottish people seems more terrifying then that.

Give it a go Bob!

Well, who knows? I do want to keep working on my material before I give it a go but I guess I will have a feeling when the time is right. I intend to try some open mic spots before the Festival. I will either love it or find out its not for me.

And chavscum looks distinctly public school.

'Mali Scrounger'? Did they just make that one up at the last minute 'cos they had one kid too many?

I thought he was nicking the post until I re-read it.

Oh thatz cool.

No worries. The festival is remarkably anonymous at the open mike level.

Because it's fun. Bet you'd be good at it.

I can imagine that the adrenaline thrill would be awesome, but I like hiding behind my keyboard.

I do have the benefit of having been to many shows and I have some mates that have been coming up from London for years.

I used to get drunk at VIP parties and be maybe a tad too cheeky to comedians that I recognised. Miranda was watching me do this and by the time I got to her she had sussed out what I was doing. She said something very funny and all I could so was splutter the imortal line "I loved you in those Maltesers adverts". She had a good laugh! This was before she was getting "proper" TV work.

The Scots I think I can handle. The first week I was there I was told "You're all right for an English c**t" Laughing out loud

I really want to go to Edinburgh this year, as a spectator, but I don't think it's going to be possible. :(

But I do pop up to Glasgow occasionally, maybe we could do a meet-up in Glasgae sometime, I think they are a few Weegies on here?

Good thread idea Hicksy - I won't be in Ed but hope a few BCGers get together. Good luck with it.

If Bob doesn't snap you up on that offer, then he's insane.

Laughing out loud

Thank you keewik, that allays any fears I might have had.

Always happy to welcome foreigners to our country.

That's why we send our asylum seekers to Glasgow. You're welcome. ;)

I am actually half Glaswegian and have a good few mates in Glasgow. I will be planning a visit at some point so let me know when you are going to be there and maybe we could meet up for a chat over a pint?
