Last Supper Sketch

Just thought of this, don't know if it works, maybe too long, ill let you be the judge.

JESUS HAS JUST BEEN BETRAYED BY JUDAS, PETER AND JUDAS ARE ON THERE OWN TALKING.

Peter
How could you do that?

Judas
I don't know, the money persuaded me I suppose.

Peter
What are we going to do know? He was our Saviour.

Judas
Peter, just shut up will you! Ive got bigger things to worry about!

Peter
Bigger things to worry about? Are you joking Judas? You have just betrayed the man that was going to save us all, he is perfection and were all doomed now aren't we?

Judas
Perfection? I don't think so mate.

Peter
Of course he was, he made a blind man see, for f**k sake, what more do you want?

Judas
If he was so perfect then why did he give us shit wine?

Peter
It wasn't shit wine, it was his own blood!

Judas
(JUDAS SNIGGER'S)
Is that what he told you?

Peter
Yes he did, what do you mean by "is that what he told you"

Judas
It wasn't his blood

Peter
Where was it from then?

Judas
He got it from Aldi on special offer, 2 quid, the stingy bastard!

Four quid? That's not cheap. £2.10 a bottle or a corner-shop two for a fiver job, that's cheap.

It didn't work as a sketch for me as the punchline was weak. But it would work well as part of a whole script; I thought the dialogue was nice. As it is, to me it lacked direction somewhat.

fair enough mate, thanks for the feedback.

Hahaha, you've changed it to two quid, you sly devil! Now that IS cheap. Paul Daniels eat your heart out!

£1.99?

Anyway, it was okay, but a bit of lengthy dialogue to get to the end. We already know Jesus is the good guy, I think...? So maybe you could trim it.

I really liked the body of it, I think you can do a better punchline though! Or maybe I just wanted it to carry on for longer.

Reminded me a bit of the Jesus/disciple stuff Lee & Herring used to do.

A series of good bible themed sketches would be ace.

Good idea zooo i might make some bible themed sketches.

Haha, I can't believe we're haggling the price.
Yeah, as I said the dialogue was nice, don't get me wrong.

Has there been a sitcom set in biblical times? With all the main characters?

It's oldentimes, we gotta haggle. Either that or I was posting on the irony thread.

Ah.
Well, of course, some of the best comedians wrangled with the minutiae. Eric Morecambe springs to mind.
