So how many trophies has Redknapp won as a manager?

Well quite.

But when will people wake up to the fact that being a succesful club manager is so different to being a succesful international manager.

The two things are different beasts.

There is no day to day contact. There is no buying and selling. And finally and probably most telling tornament football is different to anything a club manager will face.

It's like picking Geoff Boycott to open the batting for a 20:20 cricket match because he is the best opening test batsman we have had.

So Saurez has just refused Evra's handshake before the game. Just makes him and Liverpool look even worse. Fair play to Evra for being willing to move on, but I imagine it maybe be an even more fiesty game than usual.

would you really want to shake hands with a serial whinger who grassed you up to the authorities?

Evra exagerrated the incident and then ran to celebrate their win provaocatively in front of Suarez. Arsehole!!!

(But then what do you expect with ferguson - the biggest one sided hypocrite in the game?

What's this got to do with football?

F**k all.. it was an aside to the poster, that wasn't meant to devolve the thread.. but thanks for bumping.

Fergie said Suarez should never play for Liverpool again - he should get down off his high horse! This is the guy who defended Cantona to the hilt after he attacked a spectator, albeit a numpty of a spectator. He also defended Roy Keane after he admitted ending Alfe Inge Haaland's career.

Quote: Chappers @ February 12 2012, 6:40 PM GMT

I was going to say exactly the same thing!

Did Ferguson ever say they never did anything wrong? Cantona was immediatly suspended by United after the kung fu kick.

Would I want to shake hands with someone who called me racist names to my face?

The exaggerated celebrations never would have happened without the handshake incident. If anyone is to blame for Evra's behaviour after the game, it's Suarez.

Sorry Chappers, you are well off the mark on this one.

Chappers is mentally anti-that football team, he's never going to see the balanced view, only the anti-Utd view.

Irony?

True.

Also true.

And welcomed back with open arms. if he had any dignity he would never have let C**tona play for them again - but he preferred trophies over dignity.

(Bloody French again!)

True - but I have good reason though.

You brought up Redknapp's trophies, Chappers - do you think the England job should go to him, or perhaps the guy who's won the most trophies in English football? Just wondering what your preference is.

I'm not saying Redknapp isn't the best option but we haven't got a lot of choice. How about Pardew?

He said no already.

Ahem... how many trophies has he won, by your own criterion.

I agree with bigfella, trophies aren't relevant. What I see with my eyes is that the better the players he has, the better Redknapp's teams play. He might not be able to turn English players into worldbeaters but I think he can help them reach their potential.

I will support any new England manager who has the guts to dump the dead weights that are Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand.

I was actually joking about Pardew but one of the papers had mentioned him.

My choice would be Stuart Pearce or Alan Shearer I think because as BF said it's not like club management. You have to pick a team and motivate and inspire them. They are both very passionate Englishmen who all the players would look up to and respect for their playing records.
