The Walking Dead Page 19

I loved, loved it. The acting is wooden & the zombies are crap, but I do love it.
My grandaughter has just learned to crawl & drags her legs about like one of those crawling zombies.

Roll on Feb!

This is back on in America tonight.

Looking forward to the 6 new episodes.

Ooooooooooooooh, must be back on here very soon then?

I know they've been repeating the first half of the series.

Can't wait! I really like the way the characters are going in this and find their relationships much scarier then the actual zombies.

Is this gonna be on Five again?

I heard they refused to buy series two as it was too expensive

I just read that the European DVDs were edited for gore. I wonder if you guys get uncensored episodes on television?

I stream them the next day from America, so I get all the lovely blood and gore. They've really ramped up the ketchup budget on this series.

I don't see why not; I watch the American versions and I can't say I've ever thought they were over gory; seen worse on TV over here.

I don't want to spoil it for anyone but I'm very happy that they'll apparently be leaving the place where they wasted too much time and too many episodes, IMO.

And this is nothing compared to the comics; they do some messed up stuff there. Like machine gun a baby. Not a zombie baby.

:O

I bet it was Shane who did that, he has gone proper psycho.

I really enjoy the series but I have to ignore my frustrations because I have read the comics (and continue to do so). The comic has balls, it does some really thought provoking things and unfortunately it seems that the series will not be as daring as the comic. Its getting to the point where the only things that the comic and the show have in common are the title and the names of some of the characters. I can to an extent understand Robert Kirkmans view that the series should have some surprises for fans of the comic but as time passes it appears that's his way of saying "the TV people have not got the balls to tell the same story in the same way". The comic is the original Star Wars trilogy and the TV show is the new Star Wars trilogy!

Why change so much? Because for me they have changed way too much. Is it a decent zombie series for TV? Yes. Is it a good adaptation of the comic? No, not even close.....and that's the problem, I want to see all the f**ked up storylines from the comic on the screen. I don't want to see watered down versions or rewritten versions. I want to watch the comic as a live action version and I fear that what I will get is a remake that fails to realise why the comic is so loved. AMC need to get hardcore and start being more faithful to the comic.

19 episodes and still no sign of Michonne, what the f**k is that all about?

*Pauses to read back what I have typed*

It seems I have had a bit of a nerdgasm and failed to give the TV series any kudos. I must acknowledge that the show has done some good things and some of the changes have been for the better. It just annoys me because the show is good but it should be GREAT.

If you like the show you really should do yourself a favour and read the comics. Having just read all the pages in this thread in one sitting I fear there are only two or three people who will even have an understanding as to why I am ranting :)

Ha, I've not read the comics, but it's the same with any film/TV adaptation where you've read the book first. It can be very annoying.
