They both called for Redknapp to be manager because he is English. It is not suprising they both agree as they are close friends and are likely to have discussed it in the past.
You love a conspiracy don't you Chappers?

If Redknapp could get Spurs to the Champions league.
And was offered the chance to take England straight into the European Championships on a "Temporary basis" it would be hard to resist.
I think that would be a great.
Whatever controversial way we go out.
at least we had some English grit probably.

Whoever gets offered the job - and Redknapp looks likely - there's no way they can refuse, surely? They have automatic entry into a major tournament, which no other manager normally gets. And if they flop they can blame the short time in which they have had any influence, while preparing for the main job of qualifying for a World Cup, in Brazil of all places. Bingo!
That's what I said!
Just not properly

Racist.
I don't think Ferdinand and Rooney want Redknapp to take the job just so it will disrupt their title rivals. I think they just think he is the best man for the job. I can't even really think of another contender.

On that basis my application form will be in the post tomorrow !
However, how can the FA meet to shortlist for the job?
In the real world, you advertise, filter the applications and then invite those that have expressed an interest to attend an interview.
Are they so arrogant (a word used a lot in relation to England in many walks of life particularly sport) that they think they will reverse this process because the job is so 'irresistible'?

Agreed. Chappers hasn't pointed out, for example, that Defoe has also said Harry is the man - how does that fit with the coinspiracy of people outside Spurs damaging Spurs?

There is no shortlist other than Harry. If that fails, they'll make one.

I fancy a bit of Walsh/Geraghty/Mullins/McCoy action for Chelt.
What's the word?
Maybe he's heard that he's not playing?

As an Englishman And a racist obviously
I am occasionally embarrassed by the arrogance we see in the press & elsewhere.
But You do seem to be very angry about it Oldrocker, most of the time.
Here's a doll, can you show me where exactly Churchill touched you.

I could quote more like when England had a penalty to put the game beyond Wales at Wembley but kicked to touch for the line out to score a try to rub our noses in it but failed leaving Scott Gibbs to score a try at the other end to win the game.
I could go on but it's late and I'm slightly pissed !
