That's where you're too analytical and not sit-back-and-watch-y enough.
Chris Langham Page 10
I genuinely think he will end up back on our screens. It may not be for 5 or 10 years yet, but it will happen.
A lot of it depends on how much his friends in the business want to help him out.
I'd be more than happy to see him back in The Thick of It as soon as possible. But I'm not exactly holding my breath.
Theres always Panto Chris
What zooo said. I so want to see that second series of Help, but I doubt it'll happen now, whether he makes a real comeback or not. Pity.
Whether or not he returns to our screens aside, I have no doubt at all that he'll be back in the writing chair before too long.
He could have a pseudonym!
Mm, I largely disagree with Niteowl, obviously.
On a different tack, I actually thought that seeing Langham looking shattered and contrite on TV would scare the shit out of anyone thinking of looking at such images, and bring home the point, valid or not, that They Will Find You.
Not sure he should be allowed back on our telly-boxes doing comedy though.
But then half the actors on telly shouldn't be allowed on. They're all mentals.

Graham Slinch?
Carl Highmans?
His name is a mine of anagrams. "Arm high clans" is a personal favourite.

That's what I was thinking actually. What if he gives it to Whitehouse to do with someone else? He could do that just to get the money for writing it, and people might be a lot more willing to watch it if he's not actually gonna be in it?
Well I guess the litmus test would be:
Would you watch it if he wasn't in it, Charley?

I think Iannucci went on the record before the trial saying that if Langham was convicted he won't be welcome to return. It'll be interesting to see how they write out the character of Hugh Abbot - obviously up till now he has technically still been in the show, off screen.
I think Aaron is right... he'll probably return to writing behind-the-scenes.
He could be a conviction politician

Yes, I suppose Help isn't technically dead in the water - after all, the main focus was on Whitehouse's acting.
I don't think Langham could be involved with this particular show though - I imagine Paul Whitehouse is probaby quite angry at him - if you remember he was called into the witness box at the trial because early on Langham was claiming he was looking at the pictures as research for Help (which Whitehouse obviously and quite rightly denied all knowledge of and, I believe, Langham later conceded was a lie).
I was going through my TV guide yesterday got to BBC Four and they has Help! scheduled. So I switched over to it and it was the Beatles movie. I was waiting for a voice to say 'made you look!'

It had crossed my mind, but then that would defeat "him" being back. But yes, he will return in one form or another. Whether it's udner his own name or a pseudonym, we may never know.

I certainly heard nothing of the sort. And, in fact, he was continuing to follow that line during the interview. You really should have watched it!
As I said before, having seen and loving the first series, I find it entirely believable. Seems to be a logical follow-through from some of the characters who had already appeared.
Yes, he still stands by the fact it was originally for Help research.
Makes me worry about the cannibalism research I did on the internet for a book I was writing last year.
When will the police come?
I didn't eat anyone myself, but I saw and read some very weird stuff on my PC.
