You can get 'em in individual portions in the UK.

What's with all the screwing around with icecream? I mean you wouldn't want a granular bacon sandwich would you?

Heston Blumenthal might. I doubt it'd taste like bacon though.

Heston Blumenthal probably cooks a nice plate of beans on toast then eats the microwave.

MMM, Metal and electrical bits for dinner. yum yum. :P

I am intrigued!

I kind of want to try Grasshopper Pie. I'm not sure what it is, but it's definitely green.

*Has vision of millions of grasshoppers being liquidised.* Sick

Cooked broccoli and salmon bake from a recipe on the Beeb. Very tasty.

The Hairy Bikers lovely fish batter, really crisp! added a couple of onion rings.

Because you're wrong, that's why. ;)

Key Lime Pie

5 egg yolks, beaten
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup key lime juice
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Combine the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk and lime juice. Mix well. Pour into unbaked graham cracker shell.

Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Allow to cool. Top with whipped topping and garnish with lime slices if desired.

Lime Pie??? Odd.

Lime Pie??? Odd.

As you can probably tell by the ingredients, it's essentially a very tart and sweet custardy filling in a graham cracker pie shell with a little whipped cream on top. A small slice is sufficient but it's sublime if done well. (And it ain't difficult to do well.)

What's a Graham cracker again? Is that a Digestive or Cream Cracker?

I guess it's similar to a digestive biscuit. Graham cracker crusts are popular for pies (especially no-bake pies) and can be purchased pre-made at the supermarkets here.

I'd like to try it. I'll try any food once.

Speaking of which, my newest favourite food is the simple olive. Never liked them before much. But if you buy fancy posh stuffed ones they are bloody lovely.

I'm not much of a fan of green olives but I LOVE ripe olives. That said, I'll the the hell out of a nice olive tapenade on crackers and the muffuletta is my favourite sandwich.

Looks good. It says its similar to Focaccia bread. So I'm sold. Not sure about the salami though. :D

Not sure about the salami though.

They were invented at Central Grocery in New Orleans and it's a must-visit on any trip to New Orleans but I'd advise against popping in and asking for a veggie version. It's a very Soup Nazi-esque atmosphere in there and the guys behind the counter aren't at all friendly. They look like extras from a Sopranos episode.
