For those as confused as I am, the above applied to my passing critique on the below.

I had an idea about a sitcom about abducting a child in Portugel but the producer wanted to turn into into Reality TV

I was confused then i realised you were calling me a dickhead and not yourself Laughing out loud

You're probably bot interested ing My Celebrity Baby Hijack idea then :(

I wrote the Office four years after the second series finished.

You wrote The Incredibles? You must be rich!

Go back. Read what I wrote the first time around. Repeat as many times as it takes to understand my meaning.

This thread has become quite grumpy.

Nonce-sense.

And you Leevil, you're the worst of them!

Oops

I saw this story the other day and thought it was a great idea as Morris will tackle the subject like no-one else can. As always he will be taking the piss out of how ridiculous the media is in reacting to terrorism and how stupid terrorists are but inevitably he'll get some anti-Islam criticism from people who will miss the point entirely, just like Christians did with Life of Brian.

You didn't write The Incredibles? Why would you lie? Why?

An apology to ajp29.

Sorry ajp29.

Bit emotional of me to insult you. Just thought the subject matter in very bad taste.

I know some people think making subjects taboo is a kind of cencorship but I get very steamed up when the pain and anguish of kiddies is used to generate supposed humour. As I did when Morris broched the paedophile subject regardless of what his motives might have been (what were they?!).
Suffice to say, for whatever reason I believe this forbidden territory.

Again, sorry for the reaction.

I don't mind. I think your comments were more descriptive than insulting :)

Well, to satirise the insane media over reaction and fear mongering surrounding this topic; which it did superbly. Of course the media over reacted and missed the point, which sort of validated the whole thing!

Matthew,

Regardless of the 'intent' if you weren't so blinkered by your obvious dislike of the media(?) then you might have realised how dreadfully upsetting it was for certain members of the community to see such a serious subject trivialised to make a 'point'!

If this is indicative of this industry then maybe I'd best leave it to Aidan to go it alone. :(

I dont dislike the media, I want to be a television writer for christs sake! Laughing out loud Laughing out loud

And you should never be put off because of what some people might think, no one is forcing anyone to watch anything. And at no point did that Brass Eye make fun of the crime itself. Obviously if you were attacked as a toddler it probably wouldnt have been the show for you, but if you try to take into account the feelings of every single possible viewer youd never write anything. Morriss was making an important point, that the media hysteria clouds genuine, level headed discusion about the crime. Obviously you dont agree, but there we go; life would be boring if we all thought the same way.

My comedy drama and the novel -Worth More Dead (about someone faking their own death and cashing in on their pension and life insurance) - became real with that geezer John Darwin doing exactly the same thing.
Maybe that would give it currency....???

What's in a name? ;)
