Some great remarks on the Guardian live transfer window updates like this one .

To be perfectly honest, I'm pleased for young Ravel - he's getting out of Manchester and moving to the east end of London, where he'll be gadding about with lots of new friends and disposable income as he makes a fresh start. What could possibly go wrong?

Anyone else see "Britain's Gay Footballers"?
The presenter was a fashion designer who's uncle was the only gay British footballer, she obviously wasn't a fan of football herself kept asking her fashion designer friends who didn't have a clue.

Is it time for Chelsea vs Man U already?

Some wally has handcuffed himself to one of the goals at the Everton v Man City game.

Should have let the players take penaltys until he cleared off.

He was the only gay footballer to admit to it. There have probably been loads.

From what I read about it Justin Fashanu's brother John was hardly compassionate.

Yeah Max Clifford said there were about a dozen gay footballers he knew off.

Also the presenter was John Fashanu's daghter and was so cut up and distraught when she found out what her dad said.

Did we find out what that was all about?

"Now that the court has fixed a date for trial, Mr Terry looks forward to the opportunity to clear his name," said the statement.

"Mr Terry has consistently and resolutely maintained that his well-publicised remarks were made in the belief that he was being accused of racist abuse by Mr Ferdinand.

"Mr Terry was shocked and disgusted by that accusation at the time. Mr Terry denies making any racist statement, and will establish in court that he is not guilty of any such offence. 'And I've not shagged anybody's Missus' he added"

I'm just watching the 4 series of Auf Weidersehn Pet on DVD.

Nev, a Newcastle fan, has to pretend to be a Manchester United supporter for some spying activity.

I really sympathise with the character. He is so cringingly embarrassed - and I can understand totally. It must be worst thing on earth.

Yeah I can imagine, I would be embarresed if I found out how great being a Manchester United supporter is after supporting someone like Newcastle for so long. Poor guy.

There's nothing great in being a Manchester United supporter. It's much too easy to pick a team like that.

So Ferdinand has shunned the England captaincy. As if they'd honestly ask himagain. He's passed it and crap. I think this has completely destroyed the spirit of England - a total own-goal.
