I always feel sorry for kids who act up in the supermarket / department store. I remember being dragged round shops as a small child and hating it. Watching your Mum do the shopping is without a doubt one of the most boring things ever as a small boy.

The sheer horror of her saying the words I'm just popping into m+s.

Her going clothes shopping was the worst thing ever.

You mean a hyper active 5 year old boy doesn't want to watch his Mum shopping for clothes for hours on end?

What are you, one of them there heterosexuals I read about in the paper?

True, when you're little, clothes shopping is nightmarish. I used to liven things up by getting lost in John Lewis on purpose. Then you get fussed over by the staff and get to hear your name on the tannoy. Score.

Laughing out loud

Did your Mum notice you went missing or was she too wrapped up in the world of feminine fashions, commerical gratification and crass consumerism?

I was just good at wandering off.
God, what a pain in the arse.

Ummmmm..

Anybody see the recent news about the "£485,000,000" new Mach 3 missile system that will make us sleep more safely at night? When did they ask the taxpayer about it? I must have missed it..

Yep, the Sea Ceptor - not only will it knock out incoming enemy missiles but it's being developed in the UK and supporting 500 highly skilled jobs.

I'm a bit confused about your asking the taxpayer question. 'Excuse me, would you like Royal Navy ships to be sunk by enemy missiles in the future?'

Lets hope we get some in time to shove some up Galtierries arse!

You know things are bad in Argentina when the government has to bring up the Falklands / Malvinas crap again. Hopefully, by injecting some much needed patriotism as a distraction, ordinary Argentines will forget that their economy and country is in the crapper.

My mother used to sew a lot when I was young and the most boring thing a 6-year-old boy can do is to spend an hour in a store which contains nothing but aisle after aisle of fabric.

I did enjoy some bloke on the news saying it was clearly British because they eat fish and chips there.

That's all I need to know! Rule Brittania!

Personally I say we give the Falkland Islanders nuclear weapons.

Get orf moi land oive got double barrelled atom bomb

The recent Falklands uproar gave our president yet another opportunity to show how little he values our nations' "special relationship." Sorry about that.

So what would Newt do instead?

nb lets hope this mega missile doesn't end up costing 5 billion and be incapable of hitting a rhino at pointblank range. Like most of the MODs pet projects.

Especially when international arms manufacturers have cheaper products on the shelves right now. Not least of all the US.
