After Hugh Grant was caught getting blown by a tart, I still remember her saying something like: 'it was dark but I recognised the voice I thought it was Captain Peacock'.

Quote: Rico El Vista @ February 2 2011, 8:35 AM GMT...Anyone remember Odd Man Out, an ITV sitcom vehicle for John Inman, at some point in the mid-70s?
Yes. It's not quite as bad as many people seem to enjoy making out, but it's by no means a great sitcom. 7 episodes were broadcast in 1977, written by Vince Powell.
I'm sure it was much better than Take A Letter Mr. Jones....
Odd Man Out wasn't all bad, it featured the semi-legendary Peter Butterworth at least.

Ooh, erm. Yeah. Now that's a difficult one. They're quite different comedically - overall quality-wise, I guess I'd probably put them about equal.
I found this 'Are You Being Served Sir?' JOHN INMAN 'Autographed' 1975 Australian LP??? looks interesting http://www.ebay.com/itm/320837519391

And was the only non-Carry On TV series produced by Carry On director Gerald Thomas. It should have been better than it was, but yes it's not the absolute worst thing ever. When is that Bottle Boys DVD coming out?
As for the Inman albums, he made three in the UK none of which are rare enough to justify shipping them all the way from the other side of the planet!
I did read a list of the top sitcom dialogues that was produced which left out the following from the episode where the store had a German themed sale.
Young Mr Grace. "I will not be able to join you this evening Rumbold as I go my club on Thursday evenings"
Mr Rumbold. "The bridge club"
Young Mr Grace. "No the strip club".
What do people think of the sequel series - "Grace and Favour"?

On par with Ab Fab for laughs. Didn't seem quite right having Mr Humphries sleeping with the young farm-girl.

Quite a compliment.
This is a bizarre curio, an Australian Are You Being Served with John Inman and a cloned staff-
