Hmm. Sometimes I give myself a very stern talking to. But it rarely works.

I actually didn't turn the internet router thingy on this morning until I had done two diff bits of work. If I'd had it on they probably would have dragged on half the day. Think I'll do that more often.

Tried it. Told myself to piss off. I'm now not speaking to myself.

But then I wouldn't be able to enrich everyone's lives with such cheer

I sometimes want to try that. But I can't physically do it to myself.

AJGO I suppose you have looked at Foxtons Agents? I just seen a 1 bed flat with parking, newish bloc nice mature gardens with huge trees, only £65? cannot be right, it is near Clapham tube.
Sorry I have no idea! I was looking at Olympic Stadium and stuff.
My motivation is 'delayed gratification'. If I put washing in, hoover, start a casserole pop in slow cooker, I feel REALLY entitled to tea and cake whilst lounging about for couple of hours!
It works for me, yawn, better shift now.
Quote: DaButt @ January 29 2012, 3:17 PM GMTOff to brew 10 gallons of ESB. A little chilly out there but it's supposed to warm up.
Does that stand for Extra Special for Barrack? On account of how he's not just a great president, but he's kinda handsome?

Pretty good general idea actually. With flats you have to keep going, odd things turn up in Loot. Ex council, people with council flats desperate to get out of town (erm actually illegal), or maybe there's no double glazing or shower, or it's a mile from a tube. All not insurmountable but all forcing the rent right down. Set a time twice a day to check on Gumtree, Loot etc. Or for that matter advertise yourself as a tenant?
As for motivating to work. Hmm I'm a bit of a coffee head so I don't have my first cup of the day till I'm at work, checked e-mails etc and by then I'm on with the day.

Thanks Dellas & Sooty, feel like have looked at all the flats in the world but just have to keep searching.
Went to corner shop to get catfood and also washed my hair so feeling, not productive exactly, but less manky and less being given evils by cat. Didn't comb my fringe though so looking a bit like a fourteen year old boy who is failing at being an indie kid

What planet do you live on? If I were to make a beer in his honor it would be weak, rather bland and I'd have to store it on the top shelf so that it could look down on the rest of the beers.

At least you'll have another four years to try and perfect it. That POTUS isn't leaving the White House anytime soon.

Keep telling yourself that. His approval ratings are at an all-time low and continuing to drop. The economy continues to crumble and even fellow Democrats are starting to abandon ship.

I feel your pain, DaButt. You've hated him from the start and being praying for him to fail. But the American economy has turned the corner. Approval ratings mean diddly-squat. And the alternative is either going to be Newt or Mitt, neither of whom is exactly an exciting new broom, they're both Washington insiders as much to blame for the countries woes as anyone.
I really don't think it'll be as clear cut as you hope it will be.
Quote: chipolata @ January 29 2012, 6:04 PM GMTI feel your pain, DaButt. You've hated him from the start and being praying for him to fail.
You're 100% incorrect. I never hated him and still don't hate him. I didn't think he was qualified for the job and saw nothing of substance in his campaign. I'd hoped that he'd prove me wrong and wanted him to succeed, but so far he's been the poorest president we've had since Jimmy Carter.
But the American economy has turned the corner.
No it hasn't. Not even close.
Approval ratings mean diddly-squat.
Do you really believe these things you're saying? That's rather delusional.

When people are not happy with the way things are going they'll always throw the incumbent out on his ass.

You despised him on day one and you despise him now. Your hatred of him drips from every post and always has.

Out on his ass? Otherwise, it's a very gruesome image.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't. But we've had deeply unpopular PM's in this country who got re-elected on the basis that the opposition was a bit shit. I just think that you, as an Obama Hater, should prepare yourself for the possibility that you might have him until 2016.
