It's a thread for fun Sooty. No one is attempting to weed anyone out. No one is stopping new people from posting. To be honest, I do wonder why I came back because it's still the same. Whenever someone tries posts something for fun, it's killed within five minutes because it's not to someone's taste and bloody "clique" is cried.

And you are worried Newbies will be frozen out.

Sorry for attempting to post something that isn't whining about shit or putting down someone's script.

You know, I have had a shit week so far. It's been my Mother's birthday this week, the first one since she died and as I tried to just carry on, I've had a troll rant at me for being fluffy and invading with 4laughers, I've had to read about how threads I've started should have died off ages ago, and read about bloody cliques as if nothing has changed the last few years. I'm done. Why the hell did I think anything would have changed in three years?

Console
Was that a flounce? Do I get to shout BINGO too? ;)

Seriously, an adult comedy fan joining a comedy forum is not going to be put off by a for-fun half one in the morning thread. If anything, wouldn't someone prefer to join a community where people obviously get along and invest enough time and effort to be able to know each other well?

For ages I resisted being drawn into general discussion, but as you kind of get to know people from other parts of the sites you get sucked in - I have great respect for the likes of Kasm or Otterfox who have resisted the lure of infinite time wasting. Aaron rightly clamps down hard on cliquey digressions in discussions of shows (and the three men and a dog in Critique pretty much count as a clique in their own right), but once you have graduated to posting in General Discussion you are pretty much in a private conversation anyway, so you can be as cliquey as you like.

Bob Hicks and Jack Daniels2.

Declan and simon wright, whom I suspect are actually one and same person (Kev F).

Laughing out loud

I tend to agree with AJGO, but we do have to be aware of putting new people off, noone can be involved in 'everthing' here.

Will Cam and Old Rocker are twins. :)

'Cliquey' threads will put new users off if there are reams of them, not just the single odd one. I'd say regulars would be put off if they were forbidden from ever talking about each other.

Spot on. Well said.

Godot & Stott!
Two peas in a pod.

I'm not fuelled by anger. I don't go on rants calling people c**ts.

We probably would be equally insulted by the suggestion though! :D

Being in a clique means never having to say you are sorry to those outside of it. Keep posting. :)

Who the F are in the clique? I think I'll start one, then I'll know who's in it. ;)

Who the F are in the clique?

Anybody who acts in a friendly manner to others on here, basically. Chatting in a familiar manner to others who have visited for years, in an entirely normal manner. It's a nonsense, and all mentions should be ignored immediately as it leads to an endless debate then nastiness.

I must say I am a little surprised by your attitude.

But for the record I don't think there is a clique. I do think there is a potential for cliquey behaviour.

Which is a shame as generally the BCG is one of the friendlier and more open spots on the net.

It's a horrible word - clique - off with it at once.

Tongue was firmly in cheek. There has never been a clique that would have me.

I think the definition of clique would be that theyknowingly exclude others. Do not see much evidence of that here.

;) I wouldn't like to join any clique that would accept me as a member.

Zooo and Scatterbrain Floozy young vibrant and feminine.
