That's the result of a plot by the CIA and Muslim fundamentalists to prevent such material being distributed in case the Russians get to hear about it.

Honest.

It's on You Tube under Sesame Street conspiracies . . .

Laughing out loud

It was due, to be fair.

What channel is Sesame Street on these days? I've just realised that my 5-year-old nephew has never seen it.

A travesty they stopped airing it in the UK in '89 I believe. I read it was to do with phonetics and the difference between American and English language, I grew up in Ireland and it never made me say diaper instead of nappy, plonkers. It's only on the American channels now, Channel 8 I think, which I have no idea if we can get here. But I've been watching old episodes from Love Film with my son.

Come on. Be fair. It was supposed to be educational but they kept on about the letter zee.

WHAT THE FUCK? IT's ZED ZED ZED!!!!!

There are times I prefer their version . . Zed Zed Top ? !

Little girls out playing with dolls pram, or skipping.

Younger Kids reading books in public, they usually have a nintendo DS or Mummy/ Daddies fancy phone these days. The other day I walked past a kid about 9 who was carrying one of the Harry Potter books. I was quite impressed.

Viking longboats, public hangings, beef wotsits, people on the moon, smokers on the bus, Saint & Greavsie, wanking tramps, mates ma's in gingham aprons, football played on snow covered pitches with bright orange footballs, three wheeled cars, bin-bag witches at Halloween, casual racism on primetime TV, foul-throws being given, porn in hedges, plague doctors, nit-nurses, kids with plasters over one lens of their glasses, lollipop sticks stuck in dog-shit.

I'm fairly sure Sesame Street was still on in the late 1990s. But I certainly haven't seen it on anywhere recently. Shame, I loved it.

There were beef Wotsits?

For a few second I thought that Godot's Taxi had posted that. And that I was in 'The Things That Piss You Off' thread.

New Romantics - I wish we still had them around. :D

I'm sure it was on Channel 4. And then when Channel 5 popped up, it moved to there? Maybe it was on Cartoon Network? I can't remember but I'm pretty sure it was later than '89. I remember watching it either when I'd have the day off from school before Channel 4 Schools (remember that?) or it was on early on a Saturday morning.

I used to watch Channel 4 schools (What it called that??) because it sometimes used to have fun science programs on it Geek But the real reason I used to watch it is because one day I happened to catch the sex education programme (not to be confused with C4's current series) and yeah, I saw naked women. It was excellent. So from on then, I'd keep an eye out in the TV guide.

HOW RUDE.

You hardly see any kids TV these days. Especially those awesome Saturday morning shows like Going Live, Live and Kicking, and then SMTV with Ant and Dec (which was surprisingly brilliant.)

That Dick and Dom thing was quite good, but not really the same. And even that stopped years ago. :(

If we did they wouldn't be new would they?

Spiras.

They'd be old New Romantics.

I like to think of them as "Second-Hand" Romantics.

The test card.

Yeah, they were great. Didn't really watch Dick & Dom though because I always thought the little one with the big forehead was a bit of a knob. There's something about him I don't trust.

They are odd. But their Saturday morning thing was pretty amazing and often weirdly unsettling. And they were hilariously mean to the kids sometimes. Truly surreal - and I don't use that word lightly!
