Considering that pizzas are classed as vegetables in the States, I'm surprised by his surprise of the presence of corn.

We probably grow more corn than any country in the world, but I doubt that more than 0.001% of Americans have had corn on pizza.

They reserve them for their feet?

Give it a go, Randy. I dunno if you're like me but I like pineapple on my pizza too. I like the way it pops when you bite into it, same goes for sweetcorn.

Rob is trying to think of ways of getting out of taking his children to the swimming pool. Rob hates swimming pools. And children...

Tell the kids you've just been diagnosed as water soluble.

I don't think my wife would believe that. :(

Dissolve into tears?

I'm close. Swimming is the most boring leisure activity ever invented. Fact.

But that's a very American pizza topping, surely? It's not going to come from Italy. Personally I love sweetcorn on pizza, but then I love sweetcorn. Yes, like pineapple on pizza too. American also. And mushrooms. That could be Italian.

Mushrooms are very common on American pizzas but corn would make an American's eyes bug out. Ham and pineapple are common; it's typically called "Hawaiian" pizza.

Americans rarely use the term "sweet corn." We tend to just call everything corn because it's implied that you're eating sweet corn and not the stuff that's used as cattle feed.

I've recently starting eating potato pizza. You put some sort of tomato sauce on the base, then thin slice of potato and red onion. You can bacon and rosemary as well. Then when it's done put baby spinach on top.

I always preffer a pizza ass.

That sounds darn good (except for bacon). Do you pre-cook potatoes?

You can do. If you slice them thinly enough you can just pop them in a bowl of boiling water for abotu ten minutes to soften them a bit.

I am in suuuuuch a lazy mood. Have gone from energised panic about flat to all-encompassing 'everything is futile'. Summoned up just enough energy to be able to go for Sunday pints but no-one's around :(

What are everyone's motivational tricks?

Off to brew 10 gallons of ESB. A little chilly out there but it's supposed to warm up.
