BORED BY THE INDY FILMS?
I am disturbed by this. Best films of the '80s.
Agree about Star Wars though. Bore me into actual sleep. Literally.

I saw some films recently.
As soon as I remember which ones I'll update my post
I liked Peter Jackson's early stuff, such as Brain Dead and The Frighteners, but found LOTR to be a complete bore fest and King Kong is beyond ridiculous.
Quote: Renegade Carpark @ January 28 2012, 12:03 AM GMTDefinitely an acquired taste. Personally, I like the little Canadian perv, but I know plenty of people who couldn't sit through ten minutes of eXiztenz or however you spell it.
I love eXistenZ. And A History of Violence and the one where Rigor Mortison fights naked in a sauna is pretty fine too.

You young 'uns know poop about poop. Every modern film that you enjoy today was influenced by Star Wars - every single one of them. You probably thought when watching them 'what's the big deal? I've seen all this before' not realising the chronological idiocy of that thought.
(someone feels strongly about Star Wars - can you guess who?)
Quote: Renegade Carpark @ January 27 2012, 11:46 PM GMTSelf indulgent twaddle full of overly verbose characters who all sound exactly the same as Tarantino. Then when Tarantino makes one of his inevitable cameos, we're reminded once again of the egotistical twit who came up with this rip off bullshit.
Thats Tarantino in a nutshell

My last memory of watching one was in the summer holidays. I was bored already and that came on ITV full of ad breaks and painfully edited to shit. Ever since then I haven't tried again.

Especially when you remember Porkys was made in the same decade.

Don't tell us what we're thinking!
I've not lasted 15 mins into a Star Wars film to have that thought.
Okay, so there are about 20 or 30 films I would describe as "the best film of the '80s". But it doesn't make it any less true!

I miss the 80s for movies - Back To The Future, Terminator, Aliens, Highlander, The Hitcher, Weird Science, The Goonies, Ferris Bueller, Die Hard - the list goes on and on.
Thank Vectron I didn't grow up watching cinema over the last ten years.

You're all thickos who think 3D glasses are cool.

God. What do kids think of as classic films nowadays? The poor bastards.
I suppose they do still see '80s stuff on TV. I mean that's where I saw most of them too really. It's not like I went to the cinema that much when I was 5.

I loved the balls of the 80s. "Let's make a movie of this" attitude. Too much corporate thought goes into things now. I miss the days of guys being given a huge budget, a camera and buckets of talent, or not talent which just makes it a cheesy classic B-movie. Win-win.
