In many ways, zooo, you're the female Stott.

It was Tarantino who inspired me to start writing screenplays and scripts. And whilst I still like all his films I don't get the same level of enjoyment I first did with them. True Romance is something special though. I love that film.
Quote: Matthew Stott @ January 27 2012, 11:43 PM GMTNah, for me Kill Bill and Inglorious Bastards are a ton of fun. I watch those and then hear people say stuff like you and wonder what they've been watching; they're just a heap of crazy fun.
Self indulgent twaddle full of overly verbose characters who all sound exactly the same as Tarantino. Then when Tarantino makes one of his inevitable cameos, we're reminded once again of the egotistical twit who came up with this rip off bullshit.

Great fookin movie man.
If John Carpenter had stopped making films in about 1990, he'd be a shoe-in for this. But he didn't. He just didn't.

Your loss! *Watches Uma Thurman impossiblly kill a million people at once as blood spurts all over the shop. Brill*
R.C, do you get any real enjoyment out of movies being a "cinemaphile"? Life's too short to be snobby, ma'an. Just kick back with some popcorn and enjoy it.
I bloody love the Kill Bills.

Good point.
Darren Aronofsky?
I haven't seen Black Swan yet, but people seem to like it. (Can't be as good as Pi though, I imagine.)

I know, I even enjoyed the Serpent and the Rainbow. It is shocking just how far he descended into bloated hokery.

You're not meant to agree with me after a post slagging you off!
You know, apart from Dogma, I've always enjoyed a Kevin Smith film. Even Jersey Girl. I can sit through them all with pleasure. I know this makes me a special minority of one.
Sam Rami's got a good track record.

Without wanting to exacerbate what chip just said, me too.
Except I also love Dogma.

I LOVED Black Swan, so over melodramatic, which turns some off, but I thought it was great.

I think you have to buy into his universe first. I've not seen Black Swan either, but my friends have and said if it wasn't helmed by a capable director, it would look like the most unbelievable bollocks. Much like Nolan with Inception.

No! No! No! (see Tarantino for explaination)

I used to like Kevin Smith. There are some enjoyable films of his. But for a reason I can't remember right now I realised a pattern in his films that bothered me and made me realise that he has nothing interesting to say. Or something like that??? I'm tired...

That's Wes Craven, I think.
