I agree Paul. I have a real problem when I have someone dictating to me what I should and shouldn't do and I feel it actually kills the message when you try to force it onto people. That is why I take a lot of issue with PETA. They have good intentions but sometimes they take it to extremes such as giving out paper crowns with dead animals on to children outside burger king. I just wouldn't listen to anything they had to say after that.
Kill It Cook It Eat It! Page 2
Yep, you can't force an opinion on other people. They have to make the choices themselves. I guess it has to come down to sensible education and public exposure of the bad side of the industry.
People who can't, 'Kill,Cook and Eat',I suggest have never been hungry. 'Durin' the war' My Dad had rabbits and chickens at the bottom of the garden, to which we kids gave names, and then ate them.We were all the same for streets around.
Attitudes were different, for instance, virtually everybody had a cat, to kill the vermin the livestock attracted. No one could afford to have them 'seen to' so unwanted kittens were either, put in a sack and chucked in a river, or if you had a modern inside toilet, flushed down the pan.
I love meat and hate cruelty. That's why I thought we could do it for Marion sometime.
The plain fact is there are too many people in this world. Let's hope processing meat like this brings on some kind of disease that kills 75% of mankind. (Ref "Survivors" again)

I guess what you say is right in that it there is, and was, a different mindset and a way of looking at the world ... and who is anyone to judge?
Thank goodness we're liberal here.

Terrible waste of food!
(Sorry - before anyone jumps on me it was supposed to be a joke and being a comedy site I thought I migt get away with it!)

Unfortunatly, people give it a f**king good try.
Quote: Eat_My_Shirts @ January 16, 2008, 6:23 PMI gave up meat, for good, last year. Partly because I love animals and partly for medical reasons (I'm diabetic and have had high cholesterol in the past).
If you think 'Kill it cook it eat it' was bad, then I can show you an online video that will honestly make you cry at the way animals are treated.
Careful there, you're beginning to sound like you have a soul!
Am I right in thinking, back in the good old days, people also flushed unwanted babies down the loo?
It was the war! Hard times! Too many mouths to feed.
If only they'd kept the unwanted kitten meat...
NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo! NOT KITTIES!
Quote: SlagA @ January 16, 2008, 6:32 PMThe concept that really bugs me is the 'live bleeding to death via a cut throat'.
I agree! I couldn't believe that they stun them, then cut their throats while they're still alive! I was so upset for the piglets...and then while they're still a little bit alive, they then burn them to death in boiling water...to SKIN THEM!!!
I was quite happy living in ignorance of what happens to animals...I am now confused over what I should eat. I really only eat fish and chicken, but I do eat red meat sometimes...but I just feel so shamed by what I saw. Those poor animals!!!
Quote: Aaron @ January 16, 2008, 8:24 PMNOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo! NOT KITTIES!
It's okay! I take it back! Don't cry.
No kitties were harmed in the making of this country.
Not you Ellie, would I ever say that to you? Silly
Quote: Charley @ January 16, 2008, 7:07 PMI have leather settee's & coats & boots. Yet I cant eat the animal it came from. Weird eh!
Disturbingly, that's probably one of the more normal things about you.
Phew!
