Which script book are you desperate to see ?

i love script books too. almost as much as the shows themselves. i too yearn for peep show scripts.
the office scripts are great.
father ted are good but i got a bit tired of them towards the end.
phoenix nights i tired of very quickly and never finished.
i asked for alan partridge scripts for christmas but they never came.

I have the Extras (series 1 and 2) scripts, I think I wanted to check out formatting more than anything but, they're good.

Unless the scripts are shooting / production scripts then you're more than likely reading a transcript of the final filmed show.

To my mind, it's quicker (and easier) to watch the DVD and analyse that, rather than fill the coffers of a marketing machine that paid some poor guy peanuts to sit in front of a DVD and transcribe.

I actually found myself watching the show and reading the book at the same time.

Yes, I had a boring weekend when I bought the book.

Yeah, but script books are much nicer to read on the Tube.

Laughing out loud Got me there.

I'm with SlagA on this one but how do you get hold of these scripts? I get why theyre not easily available but wheres the secret vault?

That's my experience as well. I've got the office scripts and there isn't a single line that isn't verbatim with the show. I'm not saying they're not an enjoyable read, but it would have been nicer to have seen the original scripts to compare the changes/cuts etc..

If they're just transcribed then wouldn't it save a bit of cash and give you a much more involved reading if you just did the job yourself?

What shops can you get script books from?

Too many of them just print the dialogue. They trim out the very bits that you want to see.

I pissed and moaned about this very thing a while ago (albeit about radio scripts).

Dave Cohen tells me he petitioned the Writer's Room asking them to host original scripts on their site. So far nothing has come of it but these things rarely happen all at once do they?

My Script book in print. The final copy of 60,000000 sold. If you please. Fankoo.
