Parents can be bloody annoying.
Lizzie Borden had the right idea.

I never really argued with my parents, I had already gone through the argument in head and figured out the fastest way to get out of the argument so I could do the thing I said I wouldnt.
So it was never very fair.
I need money to leave home! As soon as uni's done, all those loans will be put to good use and I will work in whatever shop that'll take me.

When does uni finish for you? Although you've always struck me as a post-graddy person.
Finishes in April (?), and I won't be going back in a hurry...
Maybe leave the MA till you're 30 or something!
You'll have forgotten all the bad parts by then.

Unsolicited commentary:
I suspect that your parents are nice people. As far as I can tell, you're good people, too. It will all settle down when you're about 25 or so. Until then, give each other a break.
They're not evil or bad or anything, they just really don't respect my opinions and seemingly don't even stop to wonder why I'm so adamant about them.

Aim higher than shop work. Surely someone with a degree can do better than that.
I'm an old guy but I remember having those feelings. The future will be much better than you imagine it.

You will have a different opinion about your parents' actions 10 or 15 years from now. At the very least, you'll understand where they were coming from.
My only advice is to avoid turning molehills into mountains because that's how insignificant disagreements can turn into lifelong grudges.
That said, being an adult is all about taking responsibility for yourself. Do what you feel is best for you.

Not that it's any consolation but 'twas ever thus since the dawn of time . . .
Truth to tell, by the time my mother died a few years ago, my opinions were still light years distant from hers. War no longer broke out (as it did when I was young) purely because I learned to keep my mouth shut.
Anyone know about 'Thyriod' problems? that is my latest diagnosis, I instigated the blood tests, no help from GP, indeed he informed me of result and just said 'The prescription is ready, you will be on them for life OK,bye'
Left not sure about condition, so researched on internet.
hyper or hypo?
Hypo?...you might of guessed Soooty!
