Who's He Talking To (Animation)

Hello All

Early version of a short cartoon I'm making: http://youtu.be/Zj8TTmzvJ9o

Would like opinions before I make the final version (so I can change things accordingly). Any comments on the script, look, animation, sound, music, acting and anything else welcome.

(Video flickers at one point. Don't know why. Shall fix that)

Thanks!

I lol'd.

The animation looks very good btw, impressive.

Hi Yacob,

I'm sorry to say I didn't get it at first, perhaps you could make it a bit more topical by using a Scottish guy complaining about England instead?

Thanks Guys.

That's not the point though.

I might be one of the only people who likes this. I don't know yet.

You may need to explain it to me then, but hey, I bumped your thread and now you know AJ likes it too :)

Ha! Well, I'm not with you this time, though I really like the filing cabinets. :D

Yes, big thanks for the bump! And thanks to AJGO, Sootyj and Badge for commenting.

I feel a bit weird explaining it though. Hmmmmmm.

Great animation and it's funny to look at, but I didn't get the Czech reference really.

I dunno it made me laugh. Animation looks ace.

I don't get the Czech reference either, unless it's just meant to be random thing that isn't a Horse.

Looks and sounds good though.

Thanks Peeps.

Yes, that's it.

Maybe I should change the Czech Republic into something a little more obscure to make it clear that there isn't any kind of intended reference.

The punchline fails primarily because the 'Who's He Talking To?' question doesn't feature in the actual sketch.

Jokes need to be set up, given a foundation. You seem to have forgotten this.

My initial reaction is to disagree. We see a man talking to someone off-screen, so 'Who's he talking to?' would be a reasonable question for a viewer to ask (I'm not saying the sketch works or doesn't; only that I don't understand your perspective with this point).

From your point of view, in what way is it not set-up? Or (possibly a better question) how should it be set-up?
