Sitcom with Phil Collins' Inside Out for theme?

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help, I have recollections of a sitcom from the mid 1980s, which I think was based around a probation service or similar, dealing with ex-cons. I'm certain that the programme's theme song was Phil Collins' 'Inside Out' from his 'No Jacket Required' album.

TIA
Jim

I remember this, vaguely. But I remember it being more of a drama/comedy.

I'm wondering whether it might be Prospects

Nope, Prospects appears to have its own theme tune. Definitely not Inside Out anyway.

Oh well, I've no idea then. I do remember the song being used, and I used to watch it. Long time ago though. :D

Thanks for your suggestion,

I did think that Maureen Lipman was in it but there is no record of it in her profiles on IMDB or Wikipedia. Wish I could remember, it's driving me mad.

Sadly, despite being founded and still run by a guy from Bristol, IMDb is terribly unreliable for British television more than about 5 years old. Even shows available on DVD have misleading and incorrect details recorded.

I remember bits of the show, as you say it was about a agency for people leaving prison and settling down outside. Pretty sure the show was called Inside Out.
There was a pretty hot girl playing support if I remember.

Found a couple of links, try http://www.memorabletv.com/bfi2.htm http://www.rochellestevens.com/material/Credits-Moore.pdf

Cheers Jim

I have been trying to find the cast list for this show for years. It WAS called Inside Out and it WAS about a probation officer running a commercial catering firm to integrate prisoners back into the community. There was some first class acting including a then famous French actor who was in a relationship with the leading actress. He lived on a river boat. The probation officer, was also in love with her. It was a bittersweet romance as well as being a gentle drama comedy about the mishaps of misfits trying to operate in the real world. Any cast names would be much appreciated.

Wouldn't be this, would it Robin? http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/title/244278

YES! Can't believe this. After all these years! In five minutes I have the name, the theme track and the cast! Now, how do I go about getting hold of a copy, or is that impossible? Thanks so much :)

Now that, I am afraid, I cannot help with. I can't find anyone or anywhere with even a single episode. Sorry!

Oh well, thanks anyway. I'll try writing to the writer Simon Moore. You never know!

Must be the Phil Collins theme that's the reason !

I believe that you are thinking of the T.V. show called "The Insiders" with the theme song by Genesis called "Just a job to do".
