I sometimes wonder what I'm Alan Partridge would have been like if Patrick Marber had carried on and co-written and co-starred in that as well. Because he was a major part of KMKYWAP, both on and off screen.

He's made quite a career jump over the years, including working on the script for the upcoming Bond film - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0544999/

Marber's great in Knowing Me, Knowing You. I particularly liked his hate-filled food critic and his impotent film star who still knows how to fix a photocopier.

And his disabled-by-lightning golfer - "I can still shag!"

Yeah, he's done well for himself, although I can't help but feel Partridge was his best work.

Unwisely winding up old villian Alan Ford about his acquittal was brilliant.

TERRY NORTON: (threatening voice) You tell the ladies and gentlemen what that was all about!

ALAN PARTRIDGE: (terrified look on his face) That was a couple of ponces mincing about talking rubbish.

I liked him looking round Tandys in the Christmas special. Also in that one, when he is showing you his real house, there is a quick shot of his garage, Alan is in the shot standing in a strange manor next to it. I didn't even notice this until I'd seen it about a dozen times (it's a Christmas tradition in my house).

On the radio series I liked the hypnosis therapy when he regresses to childhood and talks about his nickname 'Smelly Alan Fartridge' (he covers this in more details in the autobiography). It also features Tony Hayers, Alan tries to persuade him to commission Knowing Me Knowing You for TV (which he apparently does).

Currently lapping up reruns of the radio show on iPlayer radio. Never listened to them before and am finding them hilarious. The Las Vegas special had me pissing my pants today.

I must download them. I love a bit of Partridge. The awkward banter between him and band leader, Glenn Ponder, was particularly good.

Bah! Why does this site keep crashing?

I have just downloaded KMKY. There was a choice of 'Knowing Nelson Mandela' on iPlayer, but I doubt that would be as funny.
