Only real weakness. That both Holmes and Watson have to have potential famale love interests so we don't worry they might be a pair of homosexualists. Grow up, who cares!

(infentisimal niggle that one)

To be fair, Adler is a character well known from the original stories; rather than added to the TV show just to say he's not a bummer.

No no Adler was great and I loved the ambivalent relationship with her (especially how she mocked him for being a probable virigin and sexless). Great sophisticated writing upthere with the Dr's Wife.

I mean annoying coroner and soppy lady GP. They don't add anything much in my little valued opinion.

Perhaps the referencing of fetish sex was a little strong though

That's the bit we're talking about. Hardly family friendly is it. "Mummy, what's bondage?" "Why do people want to be whipped?" "Why is she naked?" "WHY IS HIS PHONE MAKING SEX NOISES?"

Not that I would have even noticed that or the broadcast time, if I hadn't been watching sat between my brother and mum.

Was she a prostitute in the books?

An adventuress

She was as saucy a character as could be written in those Christian hypocritical times.

nb I wander if Holmes is victory was slipped in. Because the BBC got cold feet where someone on the wrong side in the war in terror won through?

sherlock was a crack smoking whore junky..lol I suppose you could say he,s a bit like todays youth haha and if only jeremy kyle was about in his time...lol

The Woman was a good character. And thank God she was travelling in the same timeline as Sherlock.

I've seen far stronger BDSM stuff on Midsomer Murders that have been broadcast in the afternoon.

But no one with functioning, hearing, sight or memory watches midsommer...

Just perfect for Chip then.

Perhaps the referencing of fetish sex was a little strong though (and the implication Kate was her client bordering on treason).

Only real weakness. That both Holmes and Watson have to have potential famale love interests so we don't worry they might be a pair of homosexualists. Grow up, who cares!

Yeah it was that rather than the nudity which I meant.

Also, I really don't think that the "potential female love interests" have stopped people worrying/hoping that it'll all get a bit more homoerotic! :P

Plus, the 'love interest' was a big old lesbian.
Well, that's what she said anyway.

Except for for Sherlock.

It's more that they're kinda superfluosy

Sherlock kind of looks like a lesbian...
