A little idea for a film, series or book

Not really a comedy but please tell me what you think. :) I would like to write a really inspirational story so just a little idea I have come up with.

Josh Francis was brought up on a little council estate where he was surrounded by gangs, violence and graffiti. Josh was also so brought up dealing with the split of his parents, which meant he rarely saw his father and it ended up being just him and his older brother Daniel living at home most of the time. Life wasn't as hard at primary as it isn't for any one, but when he started secondary school, gangs formed peer pressure of smoking, drinking and sex came along, but Josh just had one thing on his mind which was football and he always wanted to become a professional footballer or football coach. Because Josh was focusing on his school work and football people looked at him strangely on this rough council estate. The first 3 years of secondary school don't really feature in the story because the story is based on life from year 10 and onwards. One thing that everyone has to go through at school is work experience which has to be a very nerve racking thing. Josh's placement is at a school for the lets say naughty kids (year 7), who have also being brought up on a council estate but have merged with wrong crowd, Josh's role on his placement is to coach them football for a week. During the first couple of days his is given loads of hassle and grief from the kids, however he is determined to get the kids on his side, which he does the kids begin to take a liking to him and Josh becomes really fond of them. Josh show's them some really good football skills and some of them start to develop a big interest in football. The week comes to an end and Josh really wants to stay and help the kids develop. So he volunteers to go in and coach at the school, he coaches the kids and develops them into average football players; he then forms a team and enters them into a league. But the first year they get no where in the league, get beat every game. Josh then begins training outside of school and brings coaches from the local football team with the help of his school. The team train really hard throughout the summer and become good they then start moving up the leagues and some players start joining professional clubs at junior level.

Moved to Critique. :)

Thanks!

You could call it Josh's Giants.

I think this has potential in book or film form. Make it a two week placement - for believability - and only have him get through near to the end of second week. Have a kid who gets along with from the start. Maybe its one of his own coaches who gives him some important advice. Perhaps there is a moment of truth where he gets a big break and has to leave them, but they are on their way.
By the way - please read and critique the Christmas special for my sitcom. Cheers!
