Life's Too Short Page 43

Blimey

I actually enjoyed tonight's ep

Especially the charity event

Very funny!

I liked the happy ending. Sleeping in a drawer looks rather cosy.

Well I thought that was fantastic! There's been a sad mob mentality about LTS growing rapidly like mobs do, and like most mobs, there isn't much accuracy to their clumsy argument. Little flaws and touches of sameyness do not a bad sitcom make when the majority of it is way funnier than anything else in the preceeding 12 months. Great last episode to a sitcom that got better and better. imo.

Credit where it's due

Great end

.... to a very poor series IMO

It seemed a low key episode compared to the others, almost as if they'd all lost interest by the end. The rant at Sting did make me laugh but overall it was a pretty lame stuff we've seen a zillion times this series: people being rude to Warwick, Warwick falling over, the accountant laughing hysterically etc...

Not classic but not exactly the worst comedy I've seen either. I think it helped that they gave Warwick a series of nemesis to face, especially the solicitor, as short man syndrome in of itself isn't the greatest joke. I probably found certain moments funnier because I'll admit to making the same mistake (mainly online) of getting annoyed with some perceived slight and making too much of it.

The ending certainly hints at a sequel, so can we expect the usual Gervais sitcom 'character is humbled and finally earns genuine hapiness' conclusion?

So the 1.5 million viewers who deserted it over the course of the run actually thought it was hysterically funny but decided to stop watching because of some beastly comments on Internet forums?

Surely it's a lot harder to climb into a cramped chest of drawers than simply sleep on the floor? But of course, that wouldn't be funny, would it.

It's only funny if he gets humiliated due to his stature. :|

Draftier sleeping on the floor...

creepiest chat up lines ever

final episode terrible. Sting and SEB were as wooden as the New Forest, both storylines signposted the punchlines way in advance.

Thought the final episode was about as bad as the first. If I had to choose a favourite episode it would be episode 6.

Aparently this is getting a new series in spring 2013, so that's nice.

AIA Special: The Short Way Round is due for the end of 2012, with Warwick going round the world with Karl in his bike's basket. Should be interesting.

Here are all the ratings:

2.39 million (9.9%)
1.39 (5.5)
1.25 (5)
1.04 (4.2)
0.9 (4.2)
1.26 (5.5)
1.09 (5.3)

Not the worst they could be, but certainly not pretty reading.

The series was simply average. Didn't really get a giggle out of me in any of the episodes which disappointed me because I think Gervais and Merchant are fantastic. I felt as writers, they tried too hard and as for Warwick, I seem to think he studied the box set of The Office way too hard (all his mannerisms and acting mirrored David Brent as a character way too much).

I really hope the BBC take note of how unpopular this series has been and try even harder to find fresh talent. There's way too much crap-comedy on television at the moment, and can't wait for something new and relevant to hit my TV screen and for writers to stop trying too hard.

Think Inbetweeners. So simply written..... 4 teenagers from suburbia who tell mum jokes...... Now a box office smash hit.

Now THAT will be good.
