Is it possible you could use some professional help (not hookers), like a counsellor? You've described yourself as 'shy', but perhaps there's something else that's hindering things, that you aren't consciously aware of ; or maybe you know full well and aren't comfortable discussing it, in which case, we won't be able to help. But a counsellor might.
