Be interesting to see how many jokes there are about it at Friday's comedy awards. If nothing else, it's become the most talked about comedy this year.

This is a very good point and I wonder what changed plans there are regarding the cable premiere in March. Be interesting to see if the show receives an edit.

I doubt there will be too many edits for the HBO airing. There's a lot of hate in this thread and low ratings; but IMDB has it at 8.1 rating and everything I've seen has been funny. Americans don't have lofty expectations for sitcoms and Ricky Gervais has a much lower profile/no people lined up to hate him.
Extras had some minor edits to make up for pop culture and language differences. Bigger plot points like Andy losing his virginity to a woman that looked like Ronnie Corbett were left in despite the fact Americans wouldn't get the joke till you see Ronnie later in the episode.
This is the kinda edit to expect...

Most people here dislike the show because it's just not very good, not because they hate Gervais or have an axe to grind.
Yeah I like Ricky and most of the stuff he's done
Just think sitcom wise he peaked with The Office
Really looked forward to Extras but I hated it
Despite that I still really looked forward to this too
Simple fact IMO is that it's piss poor

You like most of the stuff he's done, but hate two out of his three sitcoms?? Big fan of Cemetery Junction or something?
I really liked Cemetery Junction.

It was a nice film, yeah.

I like all the podcasts he's done and all the stuff with Karl Pilkington
I also really like all his stand up shows
And as a person I think he's a likeable and funny bloke
Quote: Aaron @ December 14 2011, 3:35 AM GMTReally? Wow. Our standards have been lowered enormously if that can be classified as comedy genius! Brilliant performance from Warwick rocking back and forth like that, before finally tumbling back - I agree. And funny, yeah, maybe not a massive hearty belly laugh but certainly amusing... But comedy genius? As you may be able to tell, I'm genuinely shocked by that!
I said borderline comedy genius!
Talk about taking something out of context...

All right, Dan, we get it.
This is a disgrace, I will not have it. Shove this taking it out of context up the arse again and again and again really hard!
Dan
The copyright infringement line from the solicitor did make me laugh. It was like it had snook in from a better sitcom.
I liked his swingy door with the steps on it.
