Enjoyed this one. Religious bits were superfluous.
But Warwick's quest for love was classic sitcom stuff and loved the character of the date bloke.

Haha
Good one
Sarcastic bugger!
Nope 100% serious. Religious bits aside and RG it was surprisingly fun and Wrwick was quite an engaging performer.
Huh?
What the fu...
I'm complex.
I also thought the lady dwarf was well hot.
And not just cos I could rest a pint and an ashtray on her lovely flat head.
Whilst she sucked my or somebody elses cock.
If she was sucking a cock this would cause a degree of buffeting
Pint spillage could occur
And people say Life's Too Short is offensive.
No, they say it's bollocks
Either way, you've got a lot in common.
Which Brent like character was your favourite this week. I wasn't too keen on the dating agency Brent, I'm getting a bit bored of the dwarf Brent but I thought the weird spiritual Brent was wacky and I liked the way he said 'ah for fu....' Very Brent. Spot on. I always like it when people are really argumentative in comedies, especially people that challenge social faux pas when it would be more beneficial for them to let the comments slide. Maybe Larry David should look at this and copy what Gervais has done and incorporate it into Curb.
AWOOOOOOGAGAGAGAGAAAAAAA - Get a load of my sarcasm BCF!!!!!
Seriously, I've just watched it. Predictable and unoriginal. I'm going to stop watching it now.

However, part of me feels somewhat sad about this tone of this thread (which I'm completely complicit in), as The Office is still a work of comedy genius and wouldn't have happened without Ricky and Steve. But maybe people telling you you're a comedy genius is the worst thing that can ever happen to you, in a creative sense.
The criticisms of this series however, though harsh, are completely valid. And I don't really feel that's just in comparison with G&M's previous work, I think the show is poor on its own terms.

Interesting to compare this with something as iconic as say, 'Fawlty Towers'.
Such a different landscape then.
I'm sure they'd have liked another series - or some other incarnation of Fawlty, but they weren't so desperate for sellable content that they'd essentially bend over and take what ever crumbs Cleese was willing to give them - which seems to be what's happened with Gervais.
Fear has replaced taste - the thought of not having a G&M comedy on the books outweighing their usual editorial instincts.
And he's not a genius - otherwise he wouldn't be so evidently self-satified with, essentially, doing the same thing over and over.
I'd say he was a Billy Connoly - a unique voice that resonated with a lot of people.
That's all.
He'll be doing 'round-the-world' documentaries before you know it.
With a dwarf in a side-car, no doubt.
I think the backlash has been overdone a tad.
The Office was great.
Extras was very good on the whole.
Life's Too Short has been patchy but still had quite a few laughs I would say.
Shame they didn't work harder on the plots and give Warwick a love interest. I thought the date scenes worked well in the latest episode (and thankfully did veer away from The Office's scenes) and more of that kind of thing would have helped the entire series.
Another point...
People are making a big thing about a Ricky Gervais' sitcom failing to pull in viewers but I think one reason (along with the failings that I've mentioned) is that most viewers don't care about the writers of a show and are only concerned with the performers.

That's all? Blimey, I'd give my left leg to be half as 'That's all' as that pair. (Not actually, I like my legs)

Well, the comments are no different to the sort Ricky Gervais himself will make about other peoples films and TV shows when he hosts the Golden Globes. What comes around goes around.
