Another redneck, eh?

Is being a redneck a bad thing?

I think redneck is more of a Southern thing. I'm more hillbilly.

Frightened of the weather! Is the roof about to blow off? Am I heading for the Yellow Brick road? Weekend, bloody snow. Now gale-force winds. Schools closed and transport going off.

Eek. Do you have supplies?

Plenty, because this time last year we were snowed in, so the freezer's well-stocked. As long as we don't lose electricity!

It's sort of like the N-word. It began as a very derogatory term which has been claimed as their own but is still offensive when used by an outsider.

Hillbillies come from the mountains (West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky and North Carolina) and there are none in the deep south.

Yeah.

Three nights of running the heat at home and I'm sneezing blood every morning and my skin is cracked and itchy. I have a nice humidifier but our water is so hard that I wake up with nostrils full of powdered limestone. I guess I should finally install the reverse osmosis water purification unit that I bought for making brewing water.

A humidifier as opposed of a dehumidifier? What fun, I never knew such things existed.

Sort-of like the 'R' word (R*publican)...

They're a necessity when living in a desert or using a furnace. You don't see radiators here except in very old buildings.

We've learned to like it after nearly 3 years of O'Bummer giving it to us up the ass on a daily basis. ;)

How come they had radiators? I take it it's never cold in Texas or the new ones would have them.

I now have running water! Huzzah!

Woo! Go and do a big celebratory toilet.
