No evidence to back this up, but I suspect that couples who decide to marry abroad - especially in some paradise island beach wedding - are more likely to become divorced within a few years. The whole dream wedding abroad scenario smells like over-compensation for deficiencies in their relationship. Plus, as dear zooo alludes to, it's a bloody selfish way to get married. It's miserable and tedious enough having to attend family weddings without having to pay a small fortune for the "privelege".

Anyway, all the best for your sister-in-law and her fiance.

Yes, they should pay. It's bloody rude otherwise!

Spent yesterday evening with Stu Laws and The Bussell at Pinewood kicking a first draft full cut of latest pilot into shape. Worst evening of my life, they're terrible people (Apart from Laws).

Good stuff, Matt. Is this for general touting around, or are you already further down the line with this? Good luck with it anyway.

I spent last night cutting a pilot also.

F**ked him up good.

It's just something we've put together with Laws and his Turtle Canyon prod company thingy. The next step will be to show it off to general disinterest. Nice to have some filmed stuff to show off alongside the endless piles of scripts.

Or if you watch Death in Paradise, dead within days.

:D

How do you fund something like this? Are you working with Stu or is he working for you? I've seen the photos on Facebook and it's looking (if it's the same project) like a professional production (there's a compliment in there somewhere). Either way, Stu is pro. I love Stu. Can I work with him? I'm good with my hands. So some sort of hand... job?

Well, me, Bussell and Laws decided to work together on 'something', so we developed the pilot together. Funding-wise, Stu has the expertise/equipment/behind the scenes people to actually make it, so the cost is very little. I suppose the main cost is just having to put aside time to do it for no immediate return. There's going to be a website, so I suppose that'll cost something, but that aside, the actual cost will have been a few hundred.

I know he's Batman. But is he also Bruce Wayne?

He's once, twice, three times a lady.

:| 'Giss us a job'!

Just opened the front door to find a couple overfed youths tunelessly singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" at me. To their credit they were barely able to keep a straight face.

I have no running water due to a broken pipe up the road, which is a real problem when it comes to number twos. :( Rationing the hot water from the tank atm, hopefully they'll fix it soon.
